Wiltfong On Campbell

Thanks for the info. The fact of the matter is that nobody on this board, other than Rattler, knows what this kid is going to do. His entire recruitment has been pretty low-key and he has handled it respectfully. It would be great if other recruits would take note of how TC has handled his recruitment. The kid would be an incredible addition to the class in an area where there is a big need. I'm gonna stay cautiously optimistic that he chooses UM in the end. Regardless of his decision I will wish him nothing but the best for his future as I respect the **** out of the way he has handled his recruitment.

If they all handled their recruitment like Campbell, this board wouldn’t be half as much fun. What would we kvetch about?

Upvoted for Yiddish usage.

I was wondering what that was, what does it mean?

I believe it is complaining / whining. Though I just get it from context I have heard/read and don't know the meaning personally.

You got it mang. It means to complain and in an incessant, non-stop way.

We’ll see what happens. The UM staff thinks they are getting everyone.

This cycle they have outside of jobe pretty much

Interesting tag, I have no clue who you are.

He's a guy who quit a board because he didn't like his rep status on the board. Does that refresh your recollection?

I private board for that matter - dude is littering the board with his whining like he always does

Samuel

How is he a top target when we didn’t start recruiting him into the week prior to early signing day and he was already committted to another program

Brock is right, we missed out on both our first and second option for that DB slot.

I love how the amount of time he talked to Campbell grows every time he tells the story, like an urban legend.

I heard he was a lock to two schools at the same time from one poster, and at the army practice, I heard he intercepted a pass while saving a dog from a fire. The new most interesting man alive.

He's so elite that the school signs with him.

Things more important right now:

1. Improving the DL depth
2. A competent 10th coach
3. LB recruiting
4. Signing one more OT
5. Getting Perry ready for the spring

Campbell is the best prosect in the nation at his position, but he is a want, not a need atm. Please please please guys, just let his recruitment play out, bc those tears might be better reserved for more pressing matters that may not be addressed.

Georgia and Miami are the teams to beat. Tyson loved his visit to UGA as did his parents. They loved it a lot. I'll just leave it there.

You'll leave it there because that is all you read about it.

Yeap that is correct. I read it and shared it. And your problem is what exactly?

No we need Campbell, we need more talent back there, especially after next year when a lot of these guys are gone

Fair enough, but we already have one of the best db classes in the nation signed. TC just takes it to another level, but the need has been addressed.

Naw the needs haven't been addressed, after next year we will be thin depth wise at the DB position, he is a absolute need

Not calling out anyone specific with this, but some were initially talking about how we were going to land the best DB class of all-time. Then the Jobe/Samuel recruitments were misread/mishandled, and some said there were no worries because we'd still get Campbell and had a shot at Surtain. That'd result in one of the best DB hauls in the country.

Now we have some downplaying the importance of landing Campbell, who's as talented and needed as any non-QB recruit we've coveted in years. The goalposts just keep moving.

If Campbell and Surtain sign with the teams playing for the natty while we settle for a Plan D fallback like Nigel Bethel, there's really not much that needs to be said at that point. The floodgates to South Florida would be as open as ever. We have to land Campbell. Period.

Did you watch any games this season? Outside of Johnson and Bandy, our Secondary sucks. Campbell is definitely a need and arguably the most important recruit left for more reasons than one. Losing elite SF kids gets you fired at Miami. It’s that simple.

Huh? Malek, Trajan, D. Smith, Amari, Blades, Ivey, Gil, Gurvan will all be back in 2019. Plus the 2019 class will all be here after next year.

Tyson is a need in terms of adding elite talent to be an elite team. Not for depth purposes.

Does anyone know when the dead period ends? I wanna know when we might get some real updates on guys like Campbell

You legit just put three corners in that list and one of which will probably need a RS coming in, so you good with just three corners on the team and putting safeties on wideouts? Come on now

Okay. So how would you rate our DB class wo Campbell? Im not sure how anyone can say we didnt address our secondary issues already w an A1 haul. Do youdisagree w that assessment?

Regarding Bethel, hes not a plan D guy. He got his offer regardless of what Campbell was going to do. He and his handlers just played themselves.

Nobodys saying losing Campbell is a good thing, and it would be a certified embarrassment, but man we clearly have bigger issues to address right now.

So you think Blades and Frierson are both going to play safety?

I think they both end up at CB. 5 quality cornerbacks and 3 safeties is about the average for the best teams in the nation, aside for Bama.

Again, plus the 2019 class. If they bring in another 4-5 like this year, we will be fine depth wise.
