What if Miami has known for a while that Ward was nfl bound?
Kept everything under wraps and the portal closes tomorrow.
I find that more believable than Ward just figuring out in 24 hrs that he wants the nfl.
Ohio state just mortgaged the farm for J Smith and Howard ain’t coming cheap.

I mean, the report that came out today where Ward said he'd go to UM if Smith went to UM, then we should've had known

I like the way you're thinking. Perhaps is his highest and best and he's just lingering around to pull the trigger with some other options lined up? Its possible.

Cam Ward gives us a bigger, more pro ready version of DEriq King, while I don't think we've had a guy like Will Howard on this team. He's a down and dirty QB that a guy like Dan Mullen would love. Will get us tough yards and help grind teams down. I thought @DMoney had a good comp on the podcast. Cam is more shifty and evades the pocket by breaking contain while Howard wants the middle clean so he can gown downhill when needed.

I don't think its an easy choice for the staff, not even considering the players stance on all of this...I'd have trouble making the right call here. Which one will vibe with what we got? Chris Kleiman guy or a Ben Arbuckle guy? Tough choice.

With Ward off the table, and trying to think of what an offense with Will Howard would look like Miami, I can't help but be intrigued because we haven't had a guy anything like this here. I kind of like the way this offense can look conceptually with a good ol West Chester, PA 6'5" 230lb dude that played at Kansas ******* State that ain't about the bull**** that just wants to play some ******* football. We're gonna love a guy that will pop a linebacker in a mouth for a first down and we got an offense that is really tailored for a guy like that to succeed.

You chased the flash with Ward, maybe Howard is the smarter player.

Joe Burrow was kind of just a dork until he started winning and then he became Joe Cool a ******* assassin. Maybe that can be us and Will Howard. That'd be fun.

So Ward who is going to the nfl would have completely said ***** that I’ll go to college to play with a freshman receiver that he doesn’t know? And I’ll grow to be 6-4 by morning. Whatever! We need a QB

He will be handed the starting job here. The most money he will make in one season playing football will most likely be next season with his NIL deal. I don't view him highly as a Miami fan. Go check out Kansas State fans message board. They love the kid, Avery Johnson, and were happy to be rid of Howard. But we're desperate so it is what it is with this guy. We need someone to play qb.

If you want to play the “follow the follows” game, he just started following 10 buckeye players on instagram, including Jeremiah smith (someone he wouldn’t have met if he visited)

But I mean it was reported by national reporters that he was leaning buckeyes so kind of just going with that vibe, and the fact that it was reported we reached out to Nelson today, signals that Howard may not be viable for us any longer
