Will Howard to Ohio St

Im assuming they tell howard to go home talk to the family and take a day or two to make a decision. To give time to feel out ward. But then would have to press ward for a commit on visit.
I've thought about this and am genuinely curious how they left it with Howard. Each QB knows the other is visiting. If I'm Howard and Miami tells me to think about it for a day or two, that tells me I'm not the top choice. Maybe he's ok with that or maybe he's not. Too many unknown variables to logically speculate, but I'd love to be a fly on the wall for all of this.

I don't know about that. You get Howard to commit asap if that's the guy you want and he's ready. If he doesn't want to right away you then go after Ward full blast.

@apfenny3's posts about Ward don't exactly make him sound great in this regard
I had forgotten about those posts. Just went back to re-read them and some of that thread.

Interesting. He was Ward's NIL agent at the time. There's something about him that made me ask that question.

I find it interesting that people are so willing to overlook the fumbles, interceptions etc.

I think I'm leaning Howard myself, but as long as Dawson get's the guy HE wants, I'm fine. His offense needs HIS guy to be the most efficient.

It's been stated multiple times that either QB is a take for Dawson/Miami. It wouldn't have gotten this far if that wasn't the case. While the team would be fine with either guy, it would seem likely that the connection between Dawson and Ward would cause him to lean that way if given the choice.

I find it interesting people keep bringing up turnovers to discredit Ward as if Howard is some sort of savant.

Some in the know say Cam Ward is #1 with Mario. I think it's a good move bringing in Howard. You already know what Howard's camp is looking for. If the number is too big with Ward or he wants to delay his decision, Mario can counter with, "We need an answer in 24 hours or we have to move on. I promised other candidates a decision."

By bringing in both guys on consecutive days, it takes away some of the player's leverage because you can tell each guy that the other guy is a better value and/or ready to commit.

I also hear rumors that Dante Moore will get an on-campus visit as well. I think Moore is only a take if he's willing to sit. Indications from his dad is he wants to be developed, so that may mean a willingness to sit and learn for a year. Bringing in Moore could also could cause a ripple affect with Emory and the 2024 QBs. It's a tough decision Mario has to make.
Ward and Howard are not visiting if Miami wasn't willing to hit their number. The money side of it is likely pretty much already done just a matter of selling them on the school and what the offense can do for them. Personally I would sit Ward in film room. Show him his tape from Wazzu were he is always running for his life before making a play. Then show him tape of FSU where Travis is always running around for his life before making a play. Then I would show him our tape from this year where the QB consistently has time to stand in the pocket. The OL and the history of building quality lines for our coaching staff should be a selling point. We can protect you while giving you a chance to put up numbers.

is that Will Howard flashing the U?!?!?

Yes. He was at the Dolphins game last night with Bain. Kinda odd that he was screaming “WE RICH FOREVA!” all night considering he hasn’t gotten his NIL money yet, but apparently he’s confident it’s coming. And you can tell he’s obviously been hitting the beach already, dude has upgraded that Manhattan, Kansas Elmer’s Glue tan he had pretty quick.
