Why would Fisch stay??

I am pretty sure he left because he was offered 1 of 32 OC positions in the NFL. That is a pay and prestige raise. Not sure about it having anything to do with Golden and Miami's poor defense?

I think a lot of people also forget how much time and energy has to be spent on recruiting when you are coaching in college. Your off-season in the NFL is just that.....an off-season. Tons of free time.

Correct. More money, less time. Sounds pretty good to me.

He needs to prove he can close out games when the defense gives his offense the ball back and not go 3 and out twice when a sustained drive would have won the game.

He put up 35 plus points, gave the team a 10 point lead with 6 mins left. Yet you place the blame at his feet...while letting the DC off the hook. Again, if you were at any job and you were doing more than your part, only to be held responsible for failures. Why stay?

He's got the Jacory project and plenty of game tape to prove he's good.

As far as money goes, he could make a lateral move in college football and make more $ than he makes at UM.

He's not going to stay here.

So he get's credit for Phenomenal plays By D[]_[]KE. Sorry but Duke returning kicks or takin a counter 50 yards making crazy cuts doesn't scream genius call by the OC. What about the blown play to Rashawn Scott or late bomb vs NC ST? How bout the Mike James and Herb Waters Screens at Duke?

He wasn't a terrible OC but, a lot of his success was due to the talent not the coach.

If the defense were better, Fisch would lose his teflon. He'd have the same flaws minus the excuses. This year we outrushed Virginia but failed on offense when it mattered. Last year Virginia was more physical than us in the trenches by wide margin but we had a chance with 2 minutes remaining until our offense was stuffed in short yardage. Chase Ford took the blame and Fisch escaped scrutiny again.

It's a grab bag offense, like a Price is Right game. There's no purpose or identity or logic. You can sense Fisch loves to tinker. Look at those zone read or stretch option-type plays we ran in the 4th quarter, when we briefly looked like Kansas State. Morris fumbled near the goal line. A penalty would have wiped it out anyway. Those plays looked great at face value but I was annoyed because it again demonstrated a lack of commitment to anything. He trotted out those plays and now we'll forget about them. Give me a commitment and I'll have some confidence when we take the field needing a first down or two with a few minutes remaining. Instead, I had no idea what to expect, other than we needed a fluke, something to pop open. We don't hit anybody often or authoritatively enough to expect a string of 5 or 6 yard runs when it matters.

Yep.

During the game, I said Fisch was the GOAT at Madden. Sometimes that's how he calls plays.

The weird thing is he didn't really do it last year. I liked what I saw for the most part. But this year he's all over the map.

All of this. And, Morris is right: the defense should never have been in that position. It's nice to say "defense wins games," but that philosophy only works when you have an actual defense. In the context of a war/battle, you don't rely on a unit without resources because that's "what the standard philosophy dictates." Adjust and play to the realistic strengths and weaknesses of your team. Our relative strength is our offense. The onus has to be on them to close out ballgames right now.

Agree and this should be news to no one. It has been discussed all year. Have to win on offense and help the defense at all turns. Red zone struggles and inability to close out games on offense hurts the defense for sure. Defense is bad and short-handed, offense was a few plays away from saving them.

Where were all you guys the other day when people were hammering me about bad mouthing Fisch in the threads about Fisch's departure?

lol at fisch being anything less than a great offensive coordinator. Did you not see what he did with Jacory??? Jacory ******* harris! Remember that guy? Was it talent that got him magically turned around in one season. Fisch made him look like Joe Montana here. Years from now we'll look back and say ahhh Jedd ******* Fisch. He was a great one. Fisch will be a head coach in the nfl within the next 5 years and if I had to bet on it, i'd say he's gonna be a pretty **** good one.

YAWN.. Jacory's Sophomore year was more impressive to me than his Senior year.

His style is better suited for the NFL.

Agreed although IDK if he'll ever be a head man. I think his style will transition well to The NFL but he has Chad Henne and Blaine Gabbert as his QB's.

I lived in Jax. If he doesn't get Mojo the ball he won't make it thru the year.

He couldn't establish an identity here, but he's going to in the NFL? I think he'll be out of a job in two or three years. Seems like a nice enough guy, so hopefully I'm wrong. I don't ever wish for anyone to fail.

well, Fisch will be winning fewer football games than he would have had he stayed in Miami i can tell you that right now.

You are right, but he proved he could teach up young QB's, I mean Morris made huge strides with ball security this year.

You right. I'd much rather have a guy who completes 59% of his passes than 65% and a 24:17 TD:INT ratio is much more appealing than 20:9 (with it being 19:5 until his final game).

Less yards, less TDs, less wins in 2011. As a 4th year Senior.
More yards, more TDs, more wins in 2009. As a 2nd year Sophomore.

His Sophomore year was more impressive. And point to his INT's for all I care. Dude didn't play pussified like he did in 2011 and wasn't afraid to take risks.
