I have been trying to communicate this for months, and I continue to get negative reviews about elite rated HS players; such as, Campbell and Surtain. It would be great to have signed these talented players early, but it appears they are not too convince in Canes coaching staff to develop them for the next level. I am please with the current roster and signed DBs, which has talent and NFL potential too. I rather have a dominating front 7, elite QB, and nasty OL as the foundation of my football program. In my opinion, we put too much emphasis on 1 or 2 "5*" HS rated players.
I would love for Campbell and Surtain to select Canes, but this is their decisions. I have confidence in Jackson, Johnson, Young, Redwine, Bandy, Carter, Smith, Hall, Frierson, Blades, and Ivey. I am not sure the LBs and DTs are ready to compete at the elite level yet. Now, the main concern is QB and play calling.
I am hoping the spring practices will allow both Perry and Williams to get quality reps, include Weldon. Rosier knows the playbook, and just need to improve accuracy/decision-making. If I was the OC, DJ Dallas would be my man offensively! I would put DJ Dallas in the slot, wildcat, and RB on 3rd downs. For example: Perry at QB, Homer at RB, DJ at slot, Richards and Cagers at WRs. DJ comes in motion, Perry has option to pitch or run the RPO with Homer. DJ on jet sweep with options to pass to TE and WRs! DJ in wildcat, and Perry goes to WR. The 2nd package is the unit of Rosier at QB, Lingard/Davis at RB, Thomas, Pope, TE, and Njoku! My red zone package would be Njoku, Cager, and Langdom at WRs with Perry and DJ running the RPO!. Basically, let's get more creative on offense and put pressure on the defense with an attacking scheme!

Fair enough. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.
Bottom line....we've been tearing this program down for a decade n a half before richt got here..can't rebuild it back to where we were, in just 2 yrs!!.... Doesn't work that way
Are we moving in the right direction..yup!
Are we recruiting better?... Yup
Are we putting a better product out for the fans?..yep
As long as we continue moving forward,.. Just be patient.
When we stop ourforward progress,.. Then we can goto pieces, grab our box of tampons, box of ice cream,.. Banners,.. Whatever.. But lets give it a chance to get built back up, before assuming its not being fixed.

UM should just leave the front door unlocked, and the true Canes will walk through and volunteer on their own.

There must be a lot of young kids on this board because the response isn’t posted enough. Anyone over the age of 30 has seen this program go through a rough 15 years. 15! Richt has his work cut out for him, but I believe him and his staff are doing a great job.

As long as we are dealing with SoFla kids, there will always be JoRsh JoRbe's. Every single year. Fine. Not a second thought given.. but Miami can not continue to lose recruits like TC. No other "historic" program would whiff on a local kid who's position coach in college was his HC in HS (& had multiple teammates signing as well).

I know, the local program landing even ONE of the elite cornerbacks every year-- a wild proposition.
We realize it but when you have a coach who knows him since 8 years old and coached him in multiple levels we expect you land humor his other 5 star teammate. Frierson, Ivey, Blades, are great. But Surtain Jr, Campbell and even Jobe are his you can’t miss. Even if we just landed one that would do wonders

If we landed TC the narrative would immediately change to we missed on Surtain, TC is just good, I want elite. Not only declaring Ivey and Blades as not being elite players but Bandy as well. Any player that comes here isn't elite just the ones that got away, and they are all elite.

The narrative keeps changing. 1st it was Richt and Co. Need a full cycle to develop relationships. Now in year three Miami needs to be competing in Playoffs for a decade before we can expect to compete for these bluechippers.
Please give me a heads up before the narrative changes again, it's hard to keep up.

Stop it. The narrative wouldn’t change to that, most sensible fans know Surtain was never coming here. Campbell on the other hand has a strong relationship with Rumph and Our CB coach is still getting outrecruited. That’s unacceptable and what a lot of people are mad about.

We beat Bama for Richards last year and Gurvan Hall this year, they took Jobe. We dont get a god given right for these kids to come here. Some stay some leave. This program is building and i expect every kid that come here to perform to the standard regardless of rankings. We have alot of elite talent. 1 kid won't make me forget the other 20+ tremendous athletes we are bringing in. Sorry. College football can change quick. Ask FSU. Take a vacation, chill out. This is a real staff. Doesnt meant they are magicians though.

It's crazy on here at times because I remember at times when fans on here was worried that Miami might lose recruits (like Frierson and Hall) and ppl was saying losing them would be a big loss for our Canes, now some of those same fans are saying these SAME recruits aren't studs BUT alright recruits... What make this funny to me, is when some fans think our staff is losing a commit or top target THEY MAKE THAT RECRUIT ALL OF SUDDEN ELITE STATUS, "Miami can't lose him, he's a must get and etc" THEN Miami locks them up and get them signed NOW ALL OF A SUDDEN, those same recruits are all of a sudden "average and a okay recruit" BUT when they was on "flip watch" THEY were must keep, must get recruits!!
Some UM fans are very hard to satisfy, because they expect everything to just come easy and when it doesn't happen, EVERYBODY SHOULD BE REPLACED!!
My reason for starting this thread was to explain that just because a RECRUIT is from that area, doesn't mean that kid will play for the home team..
