Why are so many down on Scott as a Wr commit?

The only argument I have against him is I would have waited a little longer into his senior year because of his injury in his junior year. Otherwise, he reminds me almost of a dead ringer to Allen Hurns out of
High school. Mediocre to poor 40 time but balled in camps and games. Great feet and awesome hands.

A lot of mediocre 40 times are due to bad form anyways.

We also will probably be taking 4-5 guys at Wr so if
It's speed you want there are still spots for a pure
Burner type Wr.

But passing on Scott (or even dingle) who produce against top secondaries with speed is underestimating them.

If people don't like Scott they shouldn't like Dingle either. Neither are burners. Both seem to have good hands and instincts. Both seem to high point the ball well and profile as good possession guys.

The difference is Dingle seems more projectable because he's a lot bigger, if the measurements are correct. Scott's game is good, his size just makes it hard to see as much projection as the other prospects.

Dingle reminds me of Brandon Marshall.

Not a burner but very strong and elite body control to shield off a defender for the catch.

Quick question...how does Kevaughn Dingle remind you of Brandon Marshall when he's 6'4 230 pounds AND runs a 4.5...Dingle is 6'1 185 and runs 4.89. A better comparison for him would probably be Keenan Allen

In terms of his game, not measurements.

Dingle had an average of 20 ypc in Dade county. That's called being explosive and a playmaker. Sometimes a 40 isn't all that matters if you can't apply it to your on-field play.

As for Scott, I haven't kept up with him or watched much on him. The 40 is concerning, but there are other ways to make plays and if he excels at that then good for him.

Dingle's YPC seems a little inflated from the junior highlight. It was like 29 YPC.

He's good, but somethings off there.

Dingle>Scott
Avg. of 20 YPC in Dade county! That is insane with the talent down there in the secondary. 40 times dont matter

The reason around the Scott hype was if you went to any Booker T games last year, every other play announced was like "and there's another 8 yard dump to Scott." Literally everyone there knew he was getting the ball yet they would still throw it to him every other play, and he would some how always make the catch even with minimal separation. That being said it's a lot harder to get away with that at the college level when speed and physicality of the corner position picks up. I'd take him, but only as a fourth or fifth receiver.

Yep...

Anquan Boldin and Peter Warrick are two of the best WRs from FSU and neither was a burner....

Boldin may be their best WR ever, or not, but he's the one who sticks in my mind the most....

And Irvin wasn't exactly fast either, but like Boldin (FSU's Irvin, really) he was very strong for his size and a super hard worker....

On the other hand, we better not make a habit of taking slowish WRs....

When I think of Miami receivers I think of speed - Andre Johnson, Kevin Williams, Moss, etc....(though Reggie Wayne wasn't the fastest, either)....

Reggie Wayne ran a 4.39 coming out of Miami. He had deceptive speed. He also had someone with world class speed on the other side in Santana Moss.

Forget the hands off, film evaluators here! This boy can flat out catch the football! Has the best hands of any receiver film you'll see. Staff know what they want and getting. Trust them.

You miss the point. Single may be LISTED at 6'1" 195 but let's be real here. He's 6'0" 180-185... Terrible comparison either way.

This is the most important thing. I'd imagine we take 4-5 WR in 2017 so the next 2 or 3 have to be fast (Jeudy and Dallas would be an elite pull)
