With SSU in our rearview and on the heels of USF, I was thinking about out of conference scheduling and who I would like to see schedule a home and away 2 game series with. Curious who you guys would like to see.

My picks: (in no particular order)

1. Rutgers: With the success Golden is having with recruiting in NJ, this seems to make some sense

2. Lousiana Tech: Again...be nice to keep the recruiting pipeline in LA going and get some exposure out there

3. Notre Dame: Would love to put a beat down on them and forget about last year...plus...as much as I hate them, its good national exposure.

4. Georgia: If we are going with a non-cupcake type series, I would like to schedule these guys. I thought they were a bit overrated in the preseason this year...time will tell, but I believe we could beat them today if we played them...plus..Golden seems to really like recruiting them Georgia boys.

5. Vanderbilt/Tennessee: we do look at recruiting in Tennessee and if we are going to go head to head with the SEC for talent, we need to show recruits that we can beat them. I doubt a Alabama/LSU type series would ever come together but thought Tennessee/Vandy is not completely crazy.

6. Texas: Maybe I just feel like kicking them when they are down, but also like having a game out there on our schedule.

Two Sunbelt/MAC quality teams (try for all home games), then two games home and away with top 25 quality teams.

You're not giving Lousiana Tech a home game so its negligible recruiting-wise.

Tennessee is actually a weak-state recruiting-wise for the SEC. I like your UGA and Rutgers picks better. Texas isn't going to schedule us. They aren't in the business right now of catching an instant loss. Maybe another lesser Texas school that needs money would be more likely.

Cup-Cake State,
Crap Florida Team,
Low-Level BCS Team in an area we recruit (Maryland, Rutgers, Temple), and
Marquee Match-up (Notre Dame, OSU, Texas etc.)

I assume Florida won't play us?

Penn State (northeast team for recruiting and want them in acc eventually)

Ole Miss (close enough to Louisianna and Memphis and Nashville for recruiting and beat an sec team)

Was thinking Cincinnati but playing ND and LVille pretty often should get us in those areas for future Alex Mauls

We did in 2003

Different time, different financials, different conference situation IMO. I wouldn't be against a 2 for 1 though.

Penn St., Rutgers, LSU and Georgia
Recruiting and Exposure

Good list. PSU > rutgers (tv sets). Only issue I have w UGA is only that same grounds as Clemson and GT already. Maybe USCe I stead to get that low country area?

Oklahoma in Dallas....

USC home and home....+neutral site game

Georgia in Atlanta....

Baylor home and home....+neutral site game
