Who was the BEST S. FL receiver out of High School ?

All I know is Fisch was incredibly high on Cooper. He told one of the commits during his visit that the goal for that entire weekend was to try to flip Cooper and nothing else.

One thing that seems pretty certain is Fisch/Golden had a good eye for WRs. They were also extremely high on Lewis.

Suffice to say they valued both much higher than the recruiting rankings.

ANDRE JOHNSON

This right here.

I know almost everyone on this board is too young to know anything about Ant Carter, but the dude was an absolute beast. Andre had better size out of high school, but I think there is no debating that Ant Carter was a better player out of high school. Carter is the GOAT Palm Beach County athlete and one of the most athletic players in the history of our state. He could've played in the NBA if he chose basketball instead of football in college.

Watkins was the most heralded....people wanted him more and he had alot more hype. Coley on film looks like a better player but we shall see.

Is That AC from the Vikings, I remember watching him play Montana's niners every year in the playoffs. He was nasty

He seriously messed up his collegiate career at FSU, but Fred Rouse was incredible at Lincoln.

1.) Watkins
2.) Coley
3.) Lane
4.) Cooper

Very few saw Cooper as anything more than a guy that, given some time, could become a nice deep threat.

Not sure that's accurate on Cooper. Physically he had the tools to be good....he was a top 10-20 reciever nationally which is still **** good. The other guys were just top 5 -10

Okay but Cooper wasnt the best coming out of HS.

Watkins
Coley
Lane
Cooper

Coop never took ove rgames like Lane/Coley ..and lane has a full season left where i expect him to run roughshed over dade.

gogeta, i know you are usually spot on but you wrong on this. Cooper did work on a couple games. Shoot pop in that NW vs Columbus game. He dominated them boys like they were JV and Columbus is usually a good team. Bombing whoever they had on him, kickoff, punt returns, He even went to safety in the fourth and I remember at the time thinking he looked better than Bush playing safety after he grabbed a pick. (Bush for some reason always seemed passive at safety in high school. That changed when he got here, lol)

.

I think it has more to do with how recruiting has gotten now. Guys need to be able to make a quick decision on who will be the next savior of the program in every recruiting cycle. If a guy they had pegged ends up busting out, said recruitnik feels burned and will try to never let it happen again.

Ex. Aldarius and Jacory come to UM. They bust out. UM fans had some weird issues with regards to Bridgewater when he was coming out. Then when he switched it didnt matter because he was next Jacory. Cooper probably had same issue, heck dude wore the same number at about the same size, lol. Got to look at these kids on their own merit

Considering Sammy Watkins isn't from South Florida, The answer is Stacey Coley.
