What does Petrino's past at Arkansas have to do with us? If I'm not mistaken, he's coaching at WKU now, so his troubles at Arkansas are a moot point. Or did you not know that's how the system works? He has been cleansed of his transgressions.

The " fire AG" mess is stupid. Aside from the fact that the defense is a block of swiss cheese, AG has done a satisfactory job thus far. Yeah we have been giving him **** these past three weeks but remember, he took ownership. His major decision and next career hurdle is related to his BFF- coach Dorito Chips Ahoy. If AG does not fire his buddy this year, that IMO will be a major mistake and may in the long run cost him his job. I truly hope he does whats best for the program,NOT whats best for his friendship.

FWIW...I could not imagine the pressure he endures or the stress of having to make such a hard decision but hey that is why I am not a head coach of a BCS D1 school

I dont think we need the best coach in the country 2 get back 2 the top. I think its very simple actually. Get a coach that can recruit, hire a quality coaching staff, and LETS THE PLAYERS BE THEMSELVES! Trying to change all these players into boyscouts with their yes sir, no sir, give credit to the other team bull**** is the demise of this football team. We seen it with Randy, we see it with Golden. Get a coach that starts trying to create beasts instead of tame them. Look at the body language of a team like LSU compared to us. You see players so intuned to the game. Showing anger after a broken play, chipiness, intimidating the opponent, etc. Its a night and day difference. Give me a coach tht can recruit with the best of them and understands the importance of this and this south florida talent will make him look like a top coach in the country.

He created a position (special assistant to the HC or something crazy) for her at the university.. He got caught, lied about it, documents showed he was lying & he was fired. We can play the "what if" game but nobody can say for sure if the result would have been any different. As for dudes on message boards not forgiving him, you are missing the point... None of our opinions matter. (I don't give two craps either way) The OP asked us to name a realistic HC candidate to replace AG & I can assure you that Petrino is not a viable option.

I know alot of you are gonna make excuses but this guy has to go or he will drag Golden down. He seriously will. Next season, wont be so polite, one sign on this again and the noise will start as early as game 3 and it may be a tough season doing press. I fear Golden is gonna build up the talent level, but No D will not be able to beat anyone with that conservative prevent defense. And the prospect of facing the rapist means we could lose 5-6 in a row to the *****. It could get sour

Al Golden is about as good as we can do given our budget. I think he is running a quality program that is improving and he is bringing in quality sudent athletes. There is plenty of improvement to be made on the field and I think an offseason with no NCAA cloud will do the program wonders as far as gameplanning and recruiting go.
