Personally, I still think Al Golden is the right man for the job. I am not happy with defense or the loss to Duke but I knew this was a rebuilding job that would take a couple of years. I believe this program is headed in the right direction. That being said, some of you think he should be fired, so I ask those of you that think he should be fired, who do you think Miami can realistically hire if we fire Al Golden?

Be realistic with your choice. Charlie Strong makes $3.7 Million, has one of the highest buyouts in college football and Louisville has a larger athletic budget than Miami so he is not a realistic option. Art Briles just signed a new deal where he is making $4 Million a year, plus he has never coached outside the state of Texas so he is not coming.

Basically if Miami fires Al Golden, it would most likely pay the next coach at most $3 Million a year, with that as you parameter who does Miami hire?

I think firing Al would be a huge mistake.

I would love for us to hire a QB coach, so Coley can focus most, if not all, of his attention on game planning.

I want Al to learn that Don Shula once pulled Griese when the latter was having a bad game. Sometimes it helps a player to watch until they get it together. If this results in the destruction of a fragile ego then you had the wrong guy to start with.

Who is firing Golden... What in the heck r you talking about???

Now UF is another thing...

AL is the right man for the job right now.

I am convinced that was have two very poor coordinators. I would like to see a change at DC, as I think there are better candidates that we could get for our money. Im on-board with the idea that James Coley will be an elite recruiter for us. We just need him to develop as a play caller and get more knowledge in designing plays to attack what he sees on film. Im hopeful that he will develop.

I want Golden to act the like CEO we make him out to be.

Surround yourself with talent - on the field and on the sidelines.

The former, I have less concern with. He's shown the ability to identify and recruit talent.

The latter, we should all have serious concern over. Year 3, no progress made on defense.

If you need to fire your defensive coordinator (or other defense coaches for that matter), abandon your scheme, and bring in someone to implement a defensive system suited to the strengths of the defensive players - do it.

Being a great head coach doesn't necessarily mean being an X's and O's mastermind. Bringing in staff members who can do that for you can go a long way.

I could've sworn that's what a head coach is supposed to do anyways.

Before we hired Al, I wanted Gus Malzahn, but I knew that wouldn't happen.

However, I'm happy with Al, and I think he'll get things corrected.

If Al were to be fired, you're either gonna have to hire someone like him (up-and-comer who's had success at a smaller school), a guy who's never run a program (Gus three years ago, or an NFL coordinator/position coach), a proven commodity at a BCS school who's unsexy (some Jim Grobe type), a proven commodity who's ****, but damaged goods (Petrino), or a proven commodity who eventually fizzled out (Tedford).

There's risk associated with all of those types. We can't hire a slam dunk.

Jim Leavitt needs to be DC
He will get most out of players and choke slam Golden first time he hears "talent issue"

We just need a competent DC for starters. I still like AL, but coach D needs to go like 5 day old bread!!

Cry me a ******* river. VERY few are calling for Golden to be fired, but DOH'rito has to go. I think the consensus is that if ****-for-brains Dorito isn't canned, then Golden's time here is coming to an end. That's the facts jack.

Golden does a great job in just about all aspects of being a head coach except in making the touch decision of firing his ****-gobbling BFF. THAT is where he has to improve as a head corch.

Want him to stop signing off on the hot garbage we witness on Saturday's defensively. That includes wishing his friend well and writing him a recommendation letter. He is a great face for the program and elite recruiter but his supporting staff sucks and he needs to acknowledge it. Having more wins than last year is great but this schedule should have us at 11-1. Losses to VT and Duke don't bother us as much as the way we lost to them. We have gotten worse each week and that just can't happen at The U.

Hypothetically speaking (& a realistic choice), my answer would be Tommy Tuberville. Wanted him over RS & AG.

AG isn't going anywhere though.. nor should he.

Al is the right man for the job nor is he going anywhere. I hope he stays for a long time. He will get Miami back to a powerhouse. I thought we would improve in 2013 which we have however..... I predicted 2014 would be the year Miami officially returns to a powerhouse. We might not win it all but we will be **** good next year especially if we can finish strong in recruiting.

Well if we're dreaming here I still like Al Golden and think he is the right guy for the CEO HC position, but (here goes the dreaming part) replace Onofrio with Bud Foster and I would fap to oblivion!!

Al is the man. I have all the faith in the world in the direction of the program.

People need to understand this about the D problem. We were passable their first year and terrible last year. There was definitely talent issues last year which made it tough to fairly gauge his performance. Another year of continuity was a reasonable thing to do. So we went into the year, started very well, then hit the wall in the ACC. He isn't going to can the dude in the middle of the year and he definitely understands enough football to see all the problems that we see with our untrained eyes. He gets it, there just isn't a whole lot to do about it right now.

Wait and see. No'D has to go and we all know it, so lets support the team for the rest of the year and be patient. Al is going to bone his friend but he also has a job to do and he knows that. I have faith.
