Who are the 5 best players on this defense right now?

1. Perryman
2. Eddie Johnson
3. Finnie
4. McGee (unfortunately)
5. Chick, because I think he will look a lot better if both Porter and Robinson manage to get into the game. Still a talent, even if the strong side isn't flashy.

Could argue McGee over bush but the rest are slate in stone. Porter would be on the list if he actually played.

Chickillo has got to be in everybody's top 5. Seems like he's falling into the Colin McCarthy/Kenny Phillips mode. The fans see a defense that isn't performing and lash out at whoever is getting hype."

My list:

1) Denzel Perryman- One of the best linebackers in the country.
2) Anthony Chickillo- He will disappoint those who expect an elite pass rusher, but a very good all-around football player.
3) Brandon McGee- Can't believe it either, but he's tackling and covering at a high level.
4) Thomas Finnie- Love what he brings to the personality of the defense. Tough, fast player.
5) Eddie Johnson- Still not mentally ready to be a consistent star, but his physical gifts and motor earn him a spot.

I just can't put anyone on dline on the list. Finnie an ej are still jags to me, shown small and i mean small flashes not consistant. Other than that we have the same pic.

When the Dline does something then maybe Robinson gets in. Chik has been a disappointment. Every time a guy gets all the hype in off season they dud out that next year, never fails.
 
I agree with you for the most part D$, but I was giving Lutha the nod over Chick just based on the last 2 words in the title of the post "right now". No doubt in my mind how good of a football player Chick is and can possibly be, but haven't heard his number called too many times thru the first 2 games.
