Which RB would you take?

just watched Tice for the first time and I agree with canadianhurricane, dude runs a lot like Collins, just has a weird body lean that is easily correctable. I'd rather him than Chestnut

Didn't you go to high school with Chestnut, Peter? Sounds like you've got a dog in the fight maybe?

Personally I think Chestnut looks great on film, but Tice and Green look even more great. The one that didn't impress me as much was Lorenzo Woodley, who played at the Under 19 world championships in Texas. Why couldn't Chestnut start over that kid?

Side-note: Why do we insist that there must be a "Workhorse" back in this class? It's not like they are riding Mike James for 20 carries a game or anything like that. Duke is an incredible short-yardage back/goal line back with has a great nose for the 1st down/end zone. I say just bring in the best back out there that you can.

I laugh when I see people post something like "We don't need Chestnut because he's too similar to Duke." Huh? You don't want somebody that is similar to Duke? I'm not comparing Chestnut to Duke, but their styles are similar and Chestnut can break a game open like Duke.

Yea I did go to school with Chestnut, but I'm being completely unbiased in my statements. Chestnut does start over Woodley btw, and Zo has seen a much decreased role this season from last when Brandon Radcliff (now with Louisville) split carries with both Nut and Zo. Many expected Zo to take the next step this season with increased workload, but Nut has been the one who has stepped up.

That is some impressive tape. He reminds me of Percy Harvin in that he makes cuts without losing speed. No wasted movement, just downhill speed. Small though and probably not a pure every down RB. Not sure if we can take him in a class like this.

As for OP, I like Chestnut and Tice, and would take either, but comparing high school production is meaningless. Collins plays in a Wing T for South Plantation. He is decidedly better than any of the other backs we are talking about but because he plays in a Wing T at South Plantation he is not going to be putting up the YPC numbers like the other guys. Just a completely different situation.

If Collins is gone though, I would like to take BOTH Tice and Chestnut. Both are decent prospects but I don't feel confident enough in either to take the chance without a backup plan given our bleak numbers at the position next year.

Tice - Dont want b/c of the type of offense he plays in.. Plus MNW running backs never do **** on the college level... He would be a beast at Oregon tho..

Collins - proved to me he's the real deal and can make big plays out of the I-formation set...

Chesnut - Dont really know to much about the kid.. Tape looks legit, but you know how that goes...

That being said, if we dont get Collins we should make a strong push for this kid...

Chestnut is a lot better than Coppet

Pete, Coppet is a can't miss.. Plus the last few years STA has been putting out some nice running backs..

Would like someone to point out a time in that vid which shows Tice running upright when he is not accelerating in the open field. Yeah, he looks like Michael Johnson coming round the bend sometimes, but from what I´ve seen, he only does that when he´s breaking away, not in traffic.

And I would attribute his fumbling more to inexperience, he gets the ball knocked out because he´s holding it too loose, haven´t seen him cough it up from some huge lick caused by running upright, which has been implied before.

+1 Tice looks like he has nice balance throughout his runs but once he gets to full speed he looks upright. Totally different from Dillard who get's upright from the get-go.

I like. This kid runs like a bulldog. If he can get up to the 220's, I really like this back.

Stiff arm at 58 sec. was nasty.

The second run he shows everything a RB needs. Vision, burst, nasty cuts (shook a defender almost out of his shoes at the LOS) and power. Definite Marshawn-Lynch-feel to him, and I´m not talking about the dreads.
