Which RB would you take?

So obviously it goes B,A,C..

Tice's stats are nice but he's gotta change his running style once he gets to college. Any chance the staff would look at Tice @ FB..

All three play against high-level comp in South Florida... choose one (all are 2013)

Player A
89 ATT - 1097 YDS - 12.3 YPC - 13 TD

Player B
145 ATT - 1263 YDS - 8.7 YPC - 14 TD

Player C
125 ATT - 1136 YDS - 9.1 YPC - 18 TD

I skipped to the end of this thread to say if it hasn't already been said, you don't make a choice because stats alone don't tell the entire story. No offense, but this is like deja vu.

Peter why is Tice rated a three star? His film looks better than a lot of the four star guys?He also plays great competition.

Because he burst onto the scene this season. Nobody knew about him last year because he wasn't even their #1 back

I hate it when they speed up the film on these highlights. I'd like to get a look at Tice's real life speed, but he did have some impressive runs, good feet and balance. Definitely like him better than Dillard, but I like Greg Bryant better than Tice.

If we were taking a full class this year I'd be fine with Chestnut too, but we've already got two smallish backs in Duke and Crawford.

I'd be fine with booting Dillard and taking a class of Bryant & Tice.

Boot Dillard without giving him a chance on the field lol.Nice guy.

Those Tice highlights aren't sped up. He has really good speed.

Bryant seems a little slow to me. Tice seems to be faster, bigger and doesn't mind bowling over people. Go get him Golden. Better #'s than Collins against better competition. Maybe, just maybe Collins is a little over rated. He would be a great addition to Duke.

Collins isn't overrated - he's got great balance, great feet, good speed, good vision

The thing about Bryant is that he's extremely productive, but its not like he's running through wide open holes. He's a natural running back, and that has to count for a lot. He's also caught a lot of passes.

I like Bryant over Tice, but they're close.

Ok Peter, have you seen all of them play? And who would you choose and why?

Yes, I've seen them all play. If Collins is off the board and I had to choose between Tice and Chestnut, I would take Chestnut because he has great feet, quickness, and strength.

He is a good short-yardage back even though he's on the shorter side. I like Tice, but that running style scares me. He fumbles a lot too

Side-note: Why do we insist that there must be a "Workhorse" back in this class? It's not like they are riding Mike James for 20 carries a game or anything like that. Duke is an incredible short-yardage back/goal line back with has a great nose for the 1st down/end zone. I say just bring in the best back out there that you can.

I laugh when I see people post something like "We don't need Chestnut because he's too similar to Duke." Huh? You don't want somebody that is similar to Duke? I'm not comparing Chestnut to Duke, but their styles are similar and Chestnut can break a game open like Duke.

Fumbles a lot too, ok. How big is Chestnut? That Green kid doesn't seem any better than Collins or Tice on tape, i haven't seen Chestnuts yet. I would just rather take a SF kid who really wants to be here, probably plays against better competition, if they are close. Green doesn't look any faster than Collins or Tice. How is Chestnut's speed?

I'd take 10 Duke's, that kid has heart and has skills as good as we have ever had at Miami. Give that kid a year to put on more muscle and get a hair faster and we have a Barry Sanders on our hands. I have zero doubt he will do it too. I agree, take the best back out there.

Here is some Chestnut film from this year. Most of it goes game-by-game, so you can see his "normal" runs (i.e. tough gains in between the tackles) mixed in with his huge plays. Note the long runs he breaks against the likes of St. Thomas Aquinas, Central and Northwestern.
