Duke Johnson was a thoroughbred today, when the chips were down, he took over the game. He runs almost too tough for his frame but he was a real gamer. Running hard, moving piles, breaking tackles and making sure UM was ahead of the chains on early downs. I still wonder why though with this workload he is on KO returns
- Morris is what he is, Calvin Shiraldi. Great fastball, no command. It is, what it is and he's hand-cuffing Coley( who to be honest, isn't inspiring a lot of confidence, either)
- Stacy Coley is turning into who we think he was. Crown him. And he's only going to get better. He's no longer a freshman in my eyes but one of our true playmakers
- First half of D was awful, the tackling was atrocious and they couldn't get off the field. As for making adjustments against the wide splits, I mean, it's not like WFU just started doing this. This could not have been a big surprise and yet again, this unit is so **** reactive.
- Pat O'Donnell deserves a game ball. His punt after the great grab by Coley( which flipped the field) set up Miami nicely. On the flipside, Goudis is a liability. Second week in a row he misses a very makable kick in a tight game. I don't trust the guy
-Speaking of that sequence, that was some adroit game management by Golden. He didn't panic, used a great weapon in his punter and it worked to perfection in that sequence.
- But 7-0 is 7-0, yeah, this program/team might be a year or two away, but it's important to win games that you are supposed to. That's part of the development of any program. Make no doubt about it, this would have been a disastrous loss
- ACC officials were odd today, lets just put it that way. That Duke TD that wasn't was bizarre. It looked like an easy call and yet, it wasn't overturned.
- BTW if Miami is going to 'paper the house', they need to take some notes from boxing. That's the emptiest looking near sell-out Ive ever seen
Now, off to Tally. Hey, there's a reason why you play the games....
