Where we go from here

WIlliams “seems” like he would be prepared mentally as well.

And we certainly don’t have to worry about shortening the playbook.

Run, Run, 2 yard pass is pretty universal

Williams isn’t doing too hot adjusting academically to the college environment. Went from being the best QB in spring to last on Depth Chart. Doghouse.

Sometimes, older coaches stick to what they used to do for too long. That offense worked at FSU in the 90s but so did Mickey Andrews’ defense. Eventually, Andrews defense quit working, and they had trouble stopping anyone.

Happens all the time. Coaches get married to what they do, and, sometimes, the game changes around them to where they can only succeed if they have a monster personnel advantage.

Chise Im watching Vatech doing some pretty creative, yet relatively simple things offensively(motion, jet sweep, etc) that help the QB and get guys into space and also create natural running lanes. Fuente has a modern system, very clever and it gets the ball into his playmakers hands(BTW, Fuente was guy I was hoping UM would look at a few years ago), while our stuff looks like Blockbuster Video in a Netflix world

I hope he has the fortitude to make wholesale changes bc at UGA wasn’t it the AD/Boosters that made him change coordinators?
That’s the scuttlebutt from UGA. I just don’t see this dude making big changes, and Fake James ain’t got the sack to tell him anything.

We’re stuck with this dude, so all we can really do is hope he stumbles into a transcendent QB. Although his QB recruiting at UGA got so bad that he had to take a castoff from stank *** UVA who couldn’t even start there.

Even Nick Saban went to a variation of a spread offense, and smaller, faster LBs who could run and cover.

I do remember that trash UVA qb...ultimately cost him his job but I guess that what happens when you let Cam Newton & Deshaun Watson out of state.

That’s unfortunate. When I said mentally I just meant football wise since he seemed pretty polished coming out

Thanks for the info though

LSU is not good. Replace our quarterback and punter with anyone decent and a good coaching staff rolls LSU with our roster. Unless a change in those two positions is made immediately, I’ve given up on Richt.

It’s a shame that Richt is wasting even a game of opportunity for guys like Richards, Thomas, and Jordan by failing to give them a decent quarterback.

Thomas could’ve set records last night against one of the best secondaries in the country. The kid was open almost every **** play.
This is how guys like Thomas wind up frustrated and then they lash out and get suspended. Then factions start forming and the HC starts losing the team.

It could get ugly if Rick doesn’t at least try to fix this abominable QB situation. He can’t keep talking about Rosier excelling at practice and knowing the playbook because the team doesn’t give a **** about that. They just want a competent QB in GAMES.

Y’all are smoking crack with the fire Richt or he should be on the hot seat comments. He’s been a great ambassador for this program and needs a chance to see if he’s willing to correct this **** show.

Yes if we lose anymore games this season then I may change that opinion but for now we gotta see if this is an Al Golden “I’m not ever going to make a change” type of situation or if he will be willing to make adjustments even if it’s firing coaches, hiring an OC, getting rid of Hartleys *** afcknsap etc
When cmr got here it was a dumpster fire.we all had orange and green glasses on.maybe cmr needs another class or two before we can realistically take the next step

For the limited stretches of time last year during which Rosier was accurate, we scored at will and had big play after big play. Bud Foster was looking for the Jack Daniels by halftime facing this scheme. This is a quarterback issue much, much more than scheme. And the fact Richt didn’t recognize that LAST year scares the **** out of me. He had to know that, with a year of tape, our opponents this year would pick Rosier apart.

Yeah, but that was the conventional wisdom with Golden.

Until West End Zone put on a show like UM's never seen before. Golden was scared to look up in the sky.

And UM got the message.

As did Golden. Negative publicity is a biitch.
This is nothing like Folden, and the only people who thought the fans couldn’t get Folden fired were retards.

First off, I apologize for hyping this product. It’s embarrassing. Instead of erasing the Peach Bowl memory, we told the world nothing has changed. We won’t be respected for a long time after this. And we shouldn’t be.

As hopeless as we all feel, there is an entire season to play. Many seasons that looked doomed after the first game turned out very well. What are the best (realistic) steps to get things moving in the right direction? No coach is getting fired mid-season, so I’ll leave that to the other threads.

My overarching thought is this: we let experience play over talent because we started with LSU. That didn’t work, and every inferior talent got exposed. Now is the time to trust and fast track the talent.

QB- This is an obvious one. Rosier is 47% over his last eight games. That is a sample size of more than half his starting career. You can’t win like that. He’s not even the most athletic QB on the team. If anything, he’s the least dynamic.

We will be the underdog against every good team we play as long as Malik is the starter. What kills me the most is the lack of urgency he plays with. He was lifeless.

Greentree is not effective for evaluating QBs. Rosier looked improved until the real games started. We have four light games coming up. Put all three young guys under the fire (with live tackling) and see who emerges. Mix in reps with the first team. Use this schedule and the new redshirt rule to find out who belongs under center.

OL- Richt has been privately telling people that this team will take the next step when Delone Scaife, Cleveland Reed and John Campbell are ready to play. Time to expedite that process. Our guards looked out of place last night. A team like Clemson will make them look worse.

We need to get our guys through growing pains early. I’m not saying to start all three, but give them meaningful reps starting immediately. Scaife at RT and Donaldson at G may ultimately be the move.

P/K- Same story as above. Open it up over the next four games. We need to find out who is ready to play in a live environment against FSU. We were playing with a handicap all night.

DB- Dean and Knowles looked like the same guys. They are older than the others but not any better mentally. Time to let the young bloods learn on the job.

LSU was the perfect first test for us because they are strong where we are weak. Physical, strong and able to neutralize our athletic advantages. We failed the test miserably. Now is the time to radically rethink our approach as we look towards FSU.

I would even add guys like choc and redwine to your JAG list. Way too much hype on these guys during the off season. Just about everyone that is a JAG his first 3 years, is a JAG his 4th year. Yeah, there are guys that improve but most of the time, JAGS are JAGS.

Redwine isn’t a starting safety here and choc should not be 3rd on the depth chart - he is a very subpar 3rd string RB on this roster. I won’t even go into guys like jahairball and baloney - JAGS. Time to play the young kids and take some growing pains.

I'm going to be as fair and polite with this as possible. It is obvious as can be that you aren't able to seperate being a fan from giving an opinion on what you see. It's either that or one of two things.

One, you are pretty bad at judging talent.

Two, you only saw a little bit (I have no idea how much of our practice you've watched) and run with it from there, again as a fan, hoping for the best.

Either way, take a step back and figure out how in the world you could've gotten it all so wrong again.

I agree! Nkosi, Cade, and Jarren all need to play next week. Barry reported that UM officials say Nkosi doesn’t do anything that wows you on Greentree.

Oh i get it. sl Malik wows everyone in greentree with interceptions and pick 6...that's what makes him standout

My post is clearly stating that Malik isn’t the guy. You can cut out a sentence where I quoted Barry Jackson all day but I didn’t defend Malik

My God, please let’s not waste Jeff Thomas’ career here. He is an absolute beast, didn’t know he could make those acrobatic catches. Just thought he was a speedster. We should be designing plays around his skill set. Look what Fuente did today with motion and jet sweeps. Even if you are gonna be stubborn with Rosier, find easy ways to get players like Thomas the ball.

Aren’t you the guy with “inside info from a guy at every practice” that Polendey was going to start over Jordan and Mallory?
