if cam was a freshman or sophomore returning for another year, yes you can be picky. he isnt and the world knows that bc we have a really bad defense and lose a ton on offense of returning production including the engine that kept the team going for this great season.

I disagree. He’s the head of the program. Arguments can be made to try and persuade people. He can’t walk and chew gum at the same time?

Also, it doesn’t help that our AD ******* sucks. That guy is checked out.

The new President - he should be out there talking as well. Everyone has financial reasons and optics reasons for at least trying to argue your way into the last spot.

I completely agree, what they’re doing is not sustainable. Florida is clearly in desperation mode, and unfortunately, it’s coming at our expense in this class. I mentioned to a few people here weeks ago that this was going to happen after the Billy announcement was made. Don’t be surprised if they eventually bring in a couple of strong coordinators to try and turn things around.

That being said, you could make a similar argument for us heading into next season. Shoot, If Cam doesn’t come this season, there’s no way we’re winning 10 games with our current roster, there have been too many misses on defense. Let’s hope we overspend in the portal, or things could get really ugly next year.

our expense? for flipping an overrated Stubbs and maybe moore? They flipped 3 Texas commits. they flipped 11 kids in two weeks. most of them they were NEVER recruiting. wait until everyone tries to run the school up on them next year.

They weren't willing to overpay for him. I dont get what is so hard for people to understand. Same as when French wanted Jeremiah Smiths deal.
They did up it for toney. They are willing to pay for Hanks, Pickett, Dallas Wilson, etc.

You’re not answering the question. You said he is overrated (I’ve heard different) and now you’re saying we aren’t willing to over pay. Which one is it?

its both. I have been told from MULTIPLE people I trust who have seen him in person he is out of control, not a super athlete, and gets pushed around. maybe they are wrong but they ALL said the same things.

I hear he is nice but whatever. I don’t have a dog in this fight.

Either way, we dropped the ball on a position we desperately need help with. This class was supposed to be strong for DB’s but it’s not living up to the hype.

Mario has a budget for each kid and a target. He is not willing to go outside budget for some kid who thinks he deserves Cam Ward money but doesn't. My guess is that that's what was going on here.

Somebody wanting more money than they’re worth is not the same as them being overrated

he won't pay big for stubbs and French. he will pay the big money Dallas Wilson, Pickett, hanks, and some others.
