Where does Cam Ward rank in UM history?

Cam #1 eh. After all the drama of going pro early and at the last minute coming to the U, Let’s see he showcased his talent picked up his stock and added a trophy to his room. Missed the playoffs numbers were padded by a chump schedule and got the U to the pop tarts bowl. Miami being his third stop got him more national exposure good luck in the nfl and bye!

If you put Cam Ward on any of our 80s/early 90s teams from 86 onwards we win the nc every year through and including 1994.

If you put him on any our late 90s/early 2000 teams we win the nc from 1999-2003.

I would have loved to see him with the playmaker, or HI-/LT, or Wayne/Moss/Dre. It would have been even more uber lethal.

He’s number #1.
This year’s offense with the defense from 2003? Oooooooowie!!! Lol

The only one I'd put in the conversation with him would be Kelly. Look at Kelly's receivers. He had no one. Kelly is an NFL HOF. and if you could have predicted that in 1982, then tell me the lottery numbers for tonight. But this is about playing QB for UM. He'd have done everything the others did and more.

I’m waiting to see if Cam lands Miami the bowl trophy with a working toaster before I rank him.

Cam put up the best single season numbers of any Miami QB ever.

Cam also played against weaker competition than all the great Miami QBs of the past and the signature win of the year was beating a bad Croc team that finished the season unranked.

Both things can be true.
The other greats also had elite weapons everywhere, and a elite defense. If Cam even had a defense as good as our 2017 or 18 teams we’re probably starring down our 6th title

I have the impression there are fans here that haven't seen the likes of Kosar, Kelly, Vinny, Erickson, Gino, Covington, and Dorsey play in person. Cam is an exceptional QB and I would rank him in the top 5. He only played one year so it's hard to place him at the top of this list. There is NO WAY you can place him #1 above Dorsey. It's comical that anyone would list him as the # 1 QB in UM history.
I have seen them all and Cam is #1 for sure. I loved Dorsey and Kosar but if Cam played on their team at the time they were great that team would still win but if Dorsey or Kosar played on last year's team I think we would have lost 3 or 4 games because both would have got sacked much more because neither were great scramblers and both of them in their time had a very solid defense to keep them in the game.

You put Cam on that 1986 team, we win the Fiesta Bowl going away.
Put Cam on the 1988 team, we beat the Irish in South Bend like rented mules. Especially with Jimmy Johnson's Defense.
Cam Ward with the 2001 team? Jesus God. We become like Alabama has been for the past 10 years. Not even Donna could ***** up that team.

I mean, let’s be honest, Vinny was so “bad” there’s probably 15 QBs who win that game, but Cam is over by half time.

He carried a deeply flawed team farther than any QB we’ve ever had could have.

I don’t know what ranking that gives him, but he is one of the best if not the best.

This is before he played a snap

The 1 year hurts his case but i think he’s very easily among our greats. Id say top3-5

top 10.

0 significant bowl wnis.

0 significant in season games won

bunch of single season records bc the offense is air raid and forced throwing the ball instead of running the ball and shortening the game keeping the defense off the field and winning.
You might want to check our time of possession stats.
