Where does Cam Ward rank in UM history?

If you put Cam Ward on any of our 80s/early 90s teams from 86 onwards we win the nc every year through and including 1994.

If you put him on any our late 90s/early 2000 teams we win the nc from 1999-2003.

I would have loved to see him with the playmaker, or HI-/LT, or Wayne/Moss/Dre. It would have been even more uber lethal.

He’s number #1.

top 10.

0 significant bowl wnis.

0 significant in season games won

bunch of single season records bc the offense is air raid and forced throwing the ball instead of running the ball and shortening the game keeping the defense off the field and winning.

It’s the best season any QB as ever had at Miami-

I’ve never seen a better QB here-

He didn’t win a title but, that’s not on him-

What I hope is that we start getting NFL talent back at the position because of him-

Before him we were basically void of an NFL talent at the position for 30+ years-

I know Dorsey played a few years and Kaaya was with a few times but, he never played in a real game during the regular season-

I think Craig Erickson was the last starting NFL QB Miami had-That’s more than 30 years ago.

I wasn't around in 80s...

So you know how I'm coming.. my 🐐

Put him with those defenses, that’s all that matters

You put Cam on that 1986 team, we win the Fiesta Bowl going away.
Put Cam on the 1988 team, we beat the Irish in South Bend like rented mules. Especially with Jimmy Johnson's Defense.
Cam Ward with the 2001 team? Jesus God. We become like Alabama has been for the past 10 years. Not even Donna could ***** up that team.

Its hard to compare players from other eras because of different coaching and supporting players.

For me, Cam is the best QB ever to play here. He by far had the best single season statistics by a UM QB, period. Its tough to overlook no post season play though.

One season doesnt make a career. Does he belong on the Mt.Rushmore of UM QB's? Possibly.

When I think UM QB though, Dorsey is always the first to come to mind. One natty, robbed of second one and screwed for the opportunity to play for a third one. He's also top 3 in almost every career statistical category.

It’s hard to say…Cam’s stats are great but the competition wasn’t very good. But he also didn’t have the same level of talent that some of the other greats had. I don’t think there’s any doubt he would have won a title or more with the talent the teams of the ‘80’s, early ‘90’s, and early 2000’s had. Ken Dorsey was 38-2, won a title and had another one stolen and was clutch in a number of big games. Steve Walsh won a title and his only loss in two seasons was the travesty in South Bend.
