What newcomer are you most excited to see this season?

To put it more into depth.

Duke (Mind you, he also could have been a top corner, played corner in high school.)

2011 - 208 carries, 2087 rush yards, 29 rush TD's, 3 Rec TDs, 4 return TD's.
2010 - 144 carries, 1482 rush yards, 17 rush TD's, 1 Rec TD
2009 - 152 carries, 1540 rush yards, 24 rush TD's, 1 Rec TD

(This is what I was able to find. Not sure if he played in 08 as a freshman and might be missing return stats for 2010 and 2009 and missing defensive stats.)

Yearby

2013 - 177 carries, 1700 rush yards, 19 Rush TD's (I know he missed some games due to injury, think it was 2 playoff games.)
2012 - 212 carries, 1448 rush yards, 20 Rush TD's, 1 Rec TD
2011 - 283 carries, 2160 rush yards, 24 Rush TD's, 1 Rec TD
2010 - 49 carries, 285 rush yards, 6 Rush TD's

Throw two final gems out there.

1. Duke played on worse and less talented teams than Yearby. Central more of a hotbed than Norland. Duke put Norland on another level.

2. During his senior year, Johnson compiled 2,087 rushing yards and 29 touchdowns, 14 receptions for 232 receiving yards and three touchdowns, three kickoff returns and one punt return for scores, as he led Miami Norland to 14–0 finish and state Class 5A championship. In the championship game against Wakulla, he scored FIVE touchdowns.

I'm not knocking Yearby at all. Love his game, compared him to Warrick Dunn, all that good stuff.

But Duke was just ridiculous, it's not a debate. Duke put his team on his back.

Only back in recent history close to Duke after Duke came out. Was Dalvin Cook this past year. Who I would put a hair under Duke, because Dalvin had more talented teams.

Sony, Yearby and Collins were all nice. But only one who comes close is Dalvin to Duke.

Duke had 5 touchdowns to beat wakulla in state championship as senior, Dalvin had 4 to beat seffner armwood. Both incredible displays.

It's not playing a favorite either. Duke did a lot with just a little.

Can't wait to see Duke back in action. Great sidebar... In terms of newcomers, while I am thrilled about a lot of the guys on offense, "most excited" = anyone that improves the defense. Wyche and Heurtelou top my list, followed by Owens and Thomas.

Chad, as a few have stated it's exciting that you actually have to think about this one since we seem to finally be getting back to having some seriously talented kids to choose from. Wyche and Big Hurt would be huge if for real, Yearby has to give us something to spell Duke and we know RBs get banged up, a young LB had to step up etc. but.......feel Chad is getting slept on and he will be our top impact newcomer

I agree with everybody about Duke which is what I said initially.
As I said the only high school rb I saw better was Emmitt Smith.

As far as rankings ESPN ranked Duke an 82 and Yearby an 87.

I don't think I will see a better rb than Duke for the next decade, but if Yearby looks like his high school film than he's the next Frank Gore.

I've said this before. The thing with Duke is that his college film looks just like his high school film and his high school film looked like video game highlights.

funny is how this class was "ranked", there are a dozen guys from this class I want to see. They are going to help this team do some big things this year.

Noel Devine was a pretty special RB also:

Duke was rated higher on other sites too. He was universally accepted as a 5 star.

Yearby like Gore? Idk about that. Pre-injury Gore?

Think Yearby looks more like Warrick Dunn, which is not bad at all. Dunn was a stud in college and the nfl.

And Noel Devine was nice, still think Duke and Dalvin are better. Noel competition wasn't same as Dade County competition. Noel never lived up to his hype either.

Yearby's just as good as duke was when he was coming out of high school

Actually, Yearby is higher rated than Duke.
Personally, I think Duke was one of the top high school running backs I've ever seen in my 49 years.
The only one I've ever seen better than Duke in high school was Emmitt Smith.
Duke was 5 star.

No offense. Think Yearby is great. But I wouldn't compare any south Florida back that has come out since Duke that even compares to Duke. Watch Duke at Norland. He carried that whole team.

But Yearby, I feel it. Will be a great one for us too.

When Duke was a senior at Norland, who led Dade County in rushing?

The Yearbs took a lot of carries that year too.

Dukes yard average was nuts.

I'm sorry, I like Yearby too man. But it's not a debate, Yearby still a south Florida legend. But what Duke did, it's not a debate my friend.

If Duke would of had Yearby or Cook in the backfield with them he wouldnt of had that kind of numbers either. You have two great running backs on one and try to compare a team with only one great one? Yeah i agree on one issue you cant debate because of the number of carries....... Tyrone Moss was somebody who came in with great hype coming out of HS imo

Devine most certainly lived up to the hype...He had **** near 6,000 all purpose yards at WVU.

He was expected to do way more than what he did. He played 4 years and never really made it in the league. WVU fans even felt he wasn't as good as hyped. They hyped him as the next best ****. Don't get me wrong. Devine was nice. Would have loved to have him at the U. He didn't cut it in the league. Went undrafted. He was talented sure, but he did not completely live up to the hype. And it's not even about his size. Theirs little backs who have excelled in the league.

Devine wasn't bad at all. But he wasn't as good as his hype. He was good but if you remember the hype, he surely didn't reach it.

Steve Slaton was better for them and he wasn't even as hyped as Devine. No doubt, Devine was good, but back to the point. He did not reach the hype that he initially had if you remember.
