What Needs to Happen to Consider the Season Successful?

Gentlemen, to go from a defense ranked in the 100's to a MNC, or even a BCS game, is a tall step. You are simply setting yourselves up for a massive meltdown. Aim high, but be realistic. Winning 10 games and the Coastal is a great start. That should be the bar to having a successful season.

To have a GREAT season, it will take winning the ACC.

10 wins acccg appearance.. Coastal title and at least 9 wins should be expected with 19 starters back, a SR QB, an All american RB, and a soft schedule. Also this season we play 9 **** games in the state of FL weather shouldn't be an excuse only chance of bad weather will be Pitt and that's the last game of the year and they are terrible this year...

Here's my top five:

- Beat the **** out of the Gators
- I've forgotten the other four

We get to 9/10 wins and an ACC title shot, this would be good. Plenty of questions will need to be answered if we get there.

We won't make it all the way to the ACC title game to just play in it. We are bringing that sumb*tch home.

I would love to see Al get a huge win this year like against UF to solidify his hard work and effort
-A 10 win season would be amazing but I nervous we may freeze in Pittsburgh lolol ...
-I want to see us dominate the FAU's of the world no close game against weaker competition
-Win the Coastal
-And top it off with a bowl game win against a quality opponent will put is back in the national spotlight
in a positive way

GO CANES

Anything less than 10 wins is a huge fail IMO.

We have to win our division and go to a significant bowl.

We need to get at least 9 wins.

10 would be an extremely successful season that lives up to our loftiest expectations.

9 would be pretty good and signal to the nation that we are on our way back. It should also be good enough to get us into the ACC Championship Game, and good enough for us to finish the season ranked for the first time in forever.

8 would be at the very edge of adequate. IMO, this is the worst we could possibly do this year. If we only get 8 wins it will be because the defense failed us miserably again, and will spell the end of the D'Onofrio era in Miami. We would head into next season much as we headed into this one: Brimming with a sort of skeptical optimism. It would signal improvement over last year, but not necessarily enough to indicate that Golden is the man for the job.

Anything less than 8 is an absolute failure and gives us just cause to call for Golden's head.

If our schedule is as weak as many expect it to be, and we manage to beat Florida, I believe 11 (regular season) wins is just on the edge of possible. We lose one to either Florida State, UNC, or Virgina Tech if they surprise everybody and come back strong. IMO this team is not emotionally prepared to run the table, we need that season where we are close but not quite there (similar to 2000) to get our mindset to that point.

Thought I'd bring this back as it is an interesting discussion.

Very. It'll also be interesting to look at post-bowl season.

Give me ten wins and a win over either the Gators or Noles and I'm considering this season a success.

Give me any more and a win over both and I'm considering running up and down Ocean Drive stark naked and blind drunk.
