what I miss about the OB

I'm flying in from Texas to go to the season opener. I'll be there at Sun Life cheering on the canes... but there's no doubt it just isn't the same as the old OB.

**** you, Donna Shalala. **** you.

Let's recap all the awesome things that have happened since Donna Shalala took over in 2001: Hired Larry Coker, Did nothing as the city tore down the Orange Bowl, Hired Randy, Hired 3 AD's who all quit/took other jobs, was cited by the NCAA for LOIC, bowl bans, suspensions.

Ruining a great program like we were must have taken some serious effort. I mean, you would have to try really hard to ***** up something so awesome.

Hey, but she did build us a basketball arena though. Too bad we're not a basketball town/school/alumni base/people.

And blew a bunch of money on the university hospital.

What's up next for Donna? What's the next big debacle she can attach her name to?

A-******-MEN!!!

Watching the FSU band march out of the Orange Bowl in 02 hearing Cane fans heckle them "It's the march of shame!"
Watching Washington Huskey fans in 01 walking through the WEZ with people barking at them
In 02, waiting for the WEZ gates to open for the Viginia Tech game and seeing a huge food fight breakout with tositios chips that were being handed out that day, then the enusing Let's Go Canes chant as it was going on
In 02 seeing girls walking the aisles selling shots
Before the Syracuse Gameday in 01, some kid yelled out "Hey Herbstreit, help me go door to door and get some people out here!" (about 30 of us were out there before the show started)
Watching Frank Forte get yelled at by security trying to park his car
Being able to hang out with the players after a big game outside the locker room

I was not lucky enough to be born sooner to be part of the Orange Bowl. I am a senior now. I appreciate the ability to live vicariously through your memories.

Sun Life absolutely sucks donkey *** but hopefully it starts to fill up exponentially this year just like Coach L made the bball stadium rockin. Obviously Son Life is in pluto but nonetheless, its up to us to make it happen.

agree with what everyone said. one thing i'm gonna add was the chaos as you got into the stadium. the make shift lines. being a student there, i'd just flash the cane card and bum rush the line with my buddies. looked like a war zone as you entered the OB...friggin amazing. I was at the Texas A&M game in 2007...last dominating performance for us at that sacred place. Place was old school rockin'. And please...don't forget about the passing of the blunts in the student section (and i'm sure in every other section)...Puke, ****, beer, and mary jane wafting in the air...Hurricane conditions my friends...
