I like Lyle a lot.
What got me was seeing him in person. He moves different than the rest and he is extremely well built in his lower half. He looks and moves like an NFL back.
I like Lyle a lot.
“I’ll fight anyone on this topic”Sorry...but we need less CJ threads and more discussion as to why in the name of F Lyle isn't getting more touches. CJ has a great straight line speed but his vision, cuts, and ability to accelerate in the tight spaces isn't where some of you think it is.
Jordan Lyle is the most dynamic runner on the team, and it has nothing to do with the long run against USF. I said it after his 5 yard gain in Gainesville. He's got elite feet and vision. I'll fight anyone on this topic.
Yeah exactly. You can’t run him into those whales on the D Line. Which means immediately when he’s in he’s recognized as an outside threat. Which eliminates any element of surprise. That kid skinny as **** especially his legs. He won’t ever contribute much at rb because you don’t want him gaining too much weight in fear of losing some speed. He can be a Xavier worthy type imo so they should look at moving him to wr this off-season
Did the same wit lofton but throw was high.. would have been a huge playI def think we can do some more basic stuff with CJ maybe run some empty sets and get him on some shallow crosses against man.
Dawson needs to continue to show Johnson being a decoy the only one I can remember off top is that nice screen they set up for Arroyo.
Didn’t Devin Hester start out as a RB?The difference IMO:
Smith has gone from WR to RB. There's a ton of successful players who made this transition. Successful hybrid players are primarily WR's first.
CJ is a RB who appears to be transitioning to WR. There aren't many successes with this transition.
WR is more technical while RB is more instinctual.
This play is why I think his future is at WR. He needs to get the ball at the 2nd level with a full head of steam where there is less traffic. You see the hesitation instead of just blasting through the hole that is there to the right. If he just accelerates through rather than trying to dance around he houses that.
Correct. This has been demonstrated both on plays from scrimmage and on kick returns. Maybe this is an area where he can improve. But it’s usually one of those things where you either have it or you don’t. And the ones that have it usually show it from the start.I like the kid, but tbh I think he will be a gadget player here at the most. I honestly don’t see what you guys are seeing as far as “game changing”. Straight line speed but he is very indecisive in the open field.
At the very least defenses have to key on 24 for wheels and orbits. He also leaves a lot to be desired on KR for how much speed he has.
Just my .02
It’s all part of itWe talking about getting CJ more touches and ppl in here bringing up pass blocking, weight, and some mo ****.
Why I think he’d be better off at WR or at least 70/30 WR/RBHe has elite straight line speed. But great RBs have elite vision and instincts.
Hester started at WR. Deejay Dallas did too.Didn’t Devin Hester start out as a RB?
