He is a threat to any defense everytime he is on the field. And I think he’s going to make his money at the next level as a Swiss Army knife but more so as a WR. I think the motion out of the backfield with a wheel route has run its course. Quite frankly I think he will more often than not outrun Cams arm. I’d like to see him running traditional routes lined up as a regular receiver to lull a defense to sleep then get him on a shallow crossing route against man coverage which will let him run free. Give him an entire drive rather than a play here or there.

They were trying to get him the ball on a swing pass in Q4 but the DL got pressure and cam threw it incomplete to George (?) on a hitch route instead.

But between that swing pass, the wheel, and the reverse (all of which came while we were behind in a big game), it’s pretty evident the coaches want to get this kid the ball.

They see what we all see.

Sorry...but we need less CJ threads and more discussion as to why in the name of F Lyle isn't getting more touches. CJ has a great straight line speed but his vision, cuts, and ability to accelerate in the tight spaces isn't where some of you think it is.

Jordan Lyle is the most dynamic runner on the team, and it has nothing to do with the long run against USF. I said it after his 5 yard gain in Gainesville. He's got elite feet and vision. I'll fight anyone on this topic.

I think we’re misusing both Martinez and Fletcher who should be getting the ball going down hill. And yes Lyle is dynamic and it’s getting harder to keep him off the field.

I think the issue with each of those is it’s easy for the defense to focus on him. I think if you get him out on traditional routes, even something easy like a shallow crosser he will get lost in the shuffle and make him that much more dangerous. Imagine a cross or short wheel with a pick setup.

They are being smart with him. They are getting him in space or getting a Lb covering him. He will contribute a few plays a game.

That kid skinny as **** especially his legs. He won’t ever contribute much at rb because you don’t want him gaining too much weight in fear of losing some speed. He can be a Xavier worthy type imo so they should look at moving him to wr this off-season

A Xavier Worthy type? Like a go to WR who caught over 70 balls for over 1200 yards?

Ask yourself what happens if instead of CJ, that end around is called for Lyle.

I guarantee he scores on that play. CJ was way too hesitant and didn't explode through the open field. CJ's problem isn't speed.......but he doesn't have anywhere NEAR the vision that Lyle has.

Speed has a way of covering up any blemishes a team may have. More fast guys on the field (who are actually good) at the same time can really stress defenses.

CJ is a guy who can just literally change a game, or how a defense plays when he's on the field (without even getting the ball)

PREACH. As a DC you HAVE to account for that speed, it forces you to and opens up other thing when you do. Just being on the field is like a steph curry like gravity because DC HATE explosive plays..

You can tell he is still getting acclimated so he needs reps, very difficult to sit on bench majority of game and then come in for your one touch and guys on here want him pulled because he might be hesitant off a couple limited reps.. lmaoo

A guy like Urban would ask his coaches who are our fastest players? Then when they answer say find ways to get them on the field and making plays!

Just getting him a few touches a game, and not having out there but sporadically is a huge waste. There are so many ways to get him the ball out in space or with stuff like jet sweeps, etc. Dawson has to get creative and understand that with what 24 can do for Miami, he is really a necessity not an luxury
