what Gus can become..

The only reason why I brought up the Gus' pad level is because I don't want the kid to be a sitting duck back there like Eddie George.

The only RB I didn't mind running upright was James Stewart. Dude was like 6-3, 235, ran 4.4 in the 40, and ran like a deer. Does anyone remember him from the 90s? Dude was one of my favorites.

James was a great athlete. I watched him play in highschool at Vero Beach High. Never went down on first contact and very shifty for a big guy.

I dated his girlfriend at FSU, dam she was fine... I remember her having pictures of this fool all in her dorm room.. She let me eat the **** but never let me hit,,*** that bytch

wouldnt really advertise this...just saying

The original "superman". He had the athletic talent to be the GOAT RB here at UM. Just couldn't put it together.

I didn't read the thread but I don't see any type of Fred Taylor or Stewart in him. I don't care as much about upright running as explosion. That's the #1 area for improvement for Gus. That's the reason why he's not very good at short yardage although he's 220 lbs or whatever--he's a tiptoer unless something's wide open in front of him. So far he's been a bit plodding in terms of short areas. In terms of Miami guys the closest I'd give him is a 2003 Jarrett Payton type--that is not a knock as Payton did a lot of good work for us that year and he has more time. That's what I see at least.

I'm going to just say Eric ****erson (-esque)

You're kidding right?
Why not just go full ****** and say he's like Adrian Peterson.
I like Gus, but let's give him a few games against real defenses and then anoint him.
Right now he looks like a good complimentary back to Duke, who needs to work on some fundamentals.

Once worked with a guy who played at Arkansas State. They played against SMU when ****erson was there. In addition to his upright running style, he said playing against ****erson was eerie because most RB's make some noise just from natural movement in the act of running. However, he said you could barely hear ****erson as he blew past him on several plays. Not a lot of wasted motion with that guy.

lol you guys do get rustled when a player on this team has talent and potential.....

I dont give a **** about all that u talking about, i'm saying he is Eric ****erson (-esque)... the key phrase is "esque."

I wasnt the first person to say Gus reminds me of ****erson.... the announcer during the Sav. St game said he was similar to Eric ****erson. and i agree.

Overall make-up is similar, does that mean he's going to be Eric ****erson???.... No it doesnt. Should that keep me from saying Gus is similar though, **** No as well.

Eric ****erson wasnt a finished product his freshman year, he had things he needed to work on while he was in college.

Right now i'm not waiting on a few games for nothing, you go research all the GREAT defenses Eric ****erson was up against in college and educate me on that, b/c right now i think its a good comparison as far as potential is concerned b/c of what MY EYES have already seen on the field.

Is pad level something you continuously see improved with coaching or is it more nateral?

first let me just say, Gus Edwards naturally plays w/ better pad level then TJ Yeldon and Todd Gurley does right now.

Lol no he doesn't. I hope Gus runs with more power and lower pade level. TJ and Gurley would not be stopped at the goal in multiple times by both FAU and USF,

No Gus runs like Chris Brown and better stop that because he is going to get hurt.

Todd Gurley and TJ Yeldon run w/ their backs at a perfect 90 degree angle like Michael Johnson or some ****....

Gurley brushes ppl off b/c he's a ****n BEAST.

TJ Yeldon is athletic but he is mostly effective behind a very dominant O-line.

Gus Edwards has more smoothness in his running style, he needs to work on his pad level but he runs "lower" then Gurley and Yeldon.
