What else do we need?

Maybe RB
1 or 2 WR, rumor is Beck should attract a big name transfer
1 backup Tackle or Guard
1 or 2 DL, one DT and one Edge
1 rotational Safety
Don’t think we get all of those transfers, but I could see us getting 3-5 transfers at those spots.
A backup QB. If Beck goes down, or that elbow explodes again like he's Jonny Venters. Spring get.

Just a professional back. One tier below Martinez is fine. Spring get. Third RB type. I'm cool with another Ajay Allen.

I think I want to throw the youth in the deep end at WR. I think we need a slot guy more than anything. Beck is going to slot n TE all day if we let him. Youth and specialists like Daniels is fine with a + in the slot.

I assume there will be a little shuffling at the bottom of the depth chart around Spring. There is everywhere in America. We could use some versatile experienced backups that can rotate in on the interior. Maybe a swing tackle.

Id grab one pro ready, just bettering the resume EDGE and DT off aisle 1 please.

As close to All Conference LB as we can find. Don't be cheap.

Another corner. A safety. Id also move Chris Wheatley Humphrey to corner now. Or he can portal out.

Maybe a kicker.

Who's the Boise WR 247 mentioned, he any good?

Can't be the WR1 we all want.
It's Prince Strachan - 6'5 with some skills. 300yds receiving this year. He would have to have a Horton like breakout as a true Junior. I would take him and also look for a real #1 post spring.

Pretty much echo everything y’all have said, I’d definitely bring in a premier pass rusher if possible.

Bain was very pedestrian and noticeably slower in Y2 (miss me with the injury stuff, he was held out longer than he needed to be and the added weight was the real problem). Not saying he’s trash before people throw a tantrum, just that you can’t solely rely on him. If he returns to form, awesome. Now you have at least two scary mf’s on the DL, just how it should be. You think Ohio State or Penn State would say “oh we have Bain, we’re good on guys that can rush the QB”…

There’s talent in the room ie Bryant, Mesidor (if he returns), Blount depending on the weight transformation from Y1 to Y2, but no proven alpha pass rusher like all these CFP teams have. Look at how impactful guys like Sawyer, Carter, Colin Simmons, Tuiomolau, TJ Parker, Jayden Virgin-Morgan, Ahmed Hassanein, are…even Kamara from the DT position at Indiana or Cross at ND…we don’t have an alpha pass rusher.

Go get one, and whoever gets scared off into the portal…bye.

Minnesota had a top 10 defense... There's gotta to be solid, intelligent players over there. Anyone besides Perich we should go after?

What do we need? Special teams

Also I want all my picks back you pancake eating motherfkker 😵🤣

I don't think we need much before spring. We are talking with Damon Wilson but that's a big-time item.

Spring will tell us a lot about young players, injuries, and depth.
Somewhat agree. Spring will tell us who is ready to contribute next year at DE. But, IMHO, we need a dependable, stud WR sooner rather than later.

Unless a top WR from one of the playoff teams jumps in …and “no” I am not counting on JS like others.

I think as of this second the most glaring need is a big time alpha linebacker. The secondary has been shored up, there’s reason to believe the DL could improve/has talent, but the LB room is pretty devoid of impact players.

Yeah, I don't see us adding a lot at this point, but I do think spring portal they will attack a few more needs.

We need a veteran proven production WR.
We need a safety who is starter quality.
We can use a proven LB.

My list hasn't changed from a nearly identical thread posted yesterday. If D$ is right, and we're pursuing Wilson, it's pretty clear coaches agree the top 3 remaining needs are Lucas/equivalent DB, Wilson/equivalent LB and a WR1.:

Gut feeling we will be making changes on Defense after spring. Too many unproven players still. Especially, at DT.

I just hope there is good talent available in that 2nd portal window (usually isn’t the case). Miami needs to do everything in their power to get the Miami defense back in among the elite. Spend the money and go get our 6th championship.

Biggest priority, IMO, is (1) a definitive #1 WR and (2) a definitive MLB.

Things change but based on the Crawford tweet if we do land an elite WR1 this has the potential to be a very scary offense next year.

In order of priority:

(1) Starter-caliber WR,

(2) Starter-caliber LB,

(3) Starter-caliber DB (preferably a S, but Lucas is too good to pass up),

(4) Rotation-caliber DT / Rotation-caliber RB.

Regarding Edge Rusher, I’m in wait-and-see mode with DMoney. We’ve allocated lots of resources to DE, and it’s most cost-efficient if we can rely on one of the Sophomore/Freshmen DEs. Let’s see if one steps up in spring, allowing us to allocate limited resources to other positions with less promising young talent (e.g. LB.)
