we're #14

It's funny man. I wish the rankings came out after week 6. The problem is that even if the pre-season rankings are not released publicly they'd still use them privately. They need a base somewhere to start and that's what they would do. We all know that they would NOT go "okay it's been 6 weeks let's rank the best 25 teams now." So it would basically look like the poll that is coming in week 6.

OHIO STATE IS NOT A TOP 10 SCHOOL Alabama, Oregon, Clemson, Stanford, Georgia, Louisville, Florida St., Texas A&M, LSU, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Miami,Florida, and maybe Michigan & Washington I WOULD BE WILLING TO BET ON

U*** up two spots with ****** wins over UT and UK.. Michigan drops and is undefeated below them? Wow

Knew it was going to happen, can't really complain. Does suck a little that there are 3, one loss SEC teams ahead of us.

Four! You forgot aTm. That UGA beating LSU was a disaster. Means both teams are ahead of us for life (until Bama beats LSU). Hate to say it, but I think UF beats UGA (which is good for us).

******* Oklahoma just finsihed their season undefeated. That sucks!

BTW, will we get credit for winning the SEC East if we win the ACC?

I think LSU will beat Bama but I know UGA will demolish, and I mean demolish Florida. UGA has been waiting for two decades for these stars to line up.

We dont have any "street cred" right now. And we wont until FSU, but I'm cool with it. Right now, we are an under the radar team to watch, but not so watched we got a big ole target on our back.

OSU* doesn't play Bama, Oregon, Clemson, Stanford, et al until the BCS NC. Those big Ten teams are awful. Just awful. Slow, weak, pathetic.
They will get exposed first real team they play (which is unfortunately, in a BCS bowl and possibly NC game)

Ole Miss was overrated. Auburn may beat them this week. Gamecocks are definitely overrated.

That Conner Shaw looks underwhelming. They look like undisciplined clowns, from what I have seen. No wins worth a ****. Overrated.

They will lose to UF (I think that is their only ranked SEC opponent left), then to Clemson and be a top 10 fraud once again.

I didn't forget. That is why UGA beating LSU was a downer. UGA would have fallen behind us with a loss.

Christ, with half the SEC in the top 10, it's just a circle jerk, nobody moves down with a loss. They are still hyping UGA for a National Championship team, for Christ's sake!

Though, as a Tulane alum, I root for al qaeda against LSU

UGA can quit dreaming until Clemson screws up. And if its us and Clemson undefeated in the ACCCG, UGA can pound sand. It was absolutely critical that Clemson and Miami beat their SEC opponents on the big stage.

Yes it was. Means the winner of the SEC East is a Clown college compared to Clemson and us. (And FSU, who will beat Clemson and UF, maybe)

It makes me laugh when people are trying to put us anywhere near the top 5 right now. Let the season play out. If we are still unbeaten in 4 weeks, then I can take that post seriously. Until then, 10 is as high as I would put us currently.

Here's how BCS rankings are computed from www.bcsfootball.org
Six computer rankings are used:

• Jeff Sagarin
• Anderson & Hester
• Richard Billingsley
• Colley Matrix
• Kenneth Massey
• Dr. Peter Wolfe

A team's highest and lowest computer ranking will be discarded from figuring a team's computer poll average. Points will be assigned in inverse order of ranking from 1-25. The four remaining computer scores will be averaged and the total will be calculated as a percentage of 100.

All three components -- The Harris Interactive Poll, the USA Today Coaches Poll and the computer rankings -- shall be added together and averaged for a team's ranking in the BCS standings. The team with the highest average shall rank first in the BCS standings.

agreed. I think the closest way to get to unbiased rankings will be similar to college basketball. An RPI is a necessity because strength of schedule NEEDS to be in the mix somehow so the Louisvilles of the world (ohio state, oklahoma this year) don't get a cakewalk to the bcs because of pre rankings.

I think the UPS ranking they are doing now, (i'll put it below) would be great if it was done on a grander scale and didn't have everything weighed equally.(i.e. this factors in all statistics equally rather than win percentage mattering the most, along with strength of schedule (which is the way it should be)

The fact that UGa is ranked 6th and Louisville ranked 7th is a joke and that garbage South Carolina team still being ranked ahead of Miami and is just SEC bias at its finest.

Miami's defense period should mean we are a top 10 team. Texas aTm has a worst defense then Miami's last year smh.

More Non Bias/Realistic Ranking

1. Oregon
2. Alabama
3. Clemson
4. Stanford
5. Ohio St
6. Miami
7. UCLA
8. FSU
9. UGa
10.LSU

Come on. You ranking us 6th is ridiculous. We've played one team of consequence and one that may drop two or three more before the year is out.

Alabama has only played a Texas aTm team w/ a woat defense...... then they over hype Ole Miss to make it seem like that was a legit game as well.

Miami should be ranked 6th or 7th at this point b/c there is no other team thats better 4 games out to say that it's ridiculous, is in itself ridiculous. Ohio St has played nobody all year and so has Louisiville so i dont understand ur point.

Florida could easily win the East w/ their defense, The SEC is overrated I know for a fact UGa isnt going to put up 40 points on Florida's d win or lose like they did against LSU.

Bqama played VT. We control wether that was a BS win by Bama or not (I think it is, I think VT sucks). Bad VT teams win the Coastal on a regular basis. :(

I think UF wins the East. Murphy is near as good as Driskell (not saying much) and their D, while taking a massive blow with Easley, is FAR better than UGA and USC, not even close. They are a bull****, lucky win type program (should have lost a half dozen games since 2012) that lives off special teams, defense, and relying on opponents to choke and puke.

I'm more concerned about the frauds ahead of us, UCLA, Oklahoma, aTm, USCe etc, but that will take care of itself IF we win the games we should, which is just about all of them. I have a feeling we play FSU twice.

Alabama has played a decent schedule so far
Yes ole miss is hyped up but better than they have been
Also VT is not a bad team and Colorado ST is better than many gimme teams
It is a lot better than osu or ul will play
Bama does get lucky this year and no uf uga or USC in regular season
But if they win out beating lsu and winner from east they will played a good schedule and better than osu ul or ou
PAC 10 looks better this year with Oregon Stanford ucla uw looking good early
