Went to practice today (Some notes)

**** Great Report! Why cant Morris hit the deep ball! If you must just under throw and make the completion, if you cant hit the homerun! Mcgee just put him on the bench let the young guys play! Walford has so
much potential but just cant catch the ball! i AM EXCITED About Duke and Dallas, I dont have confidence in james.

Gotta give James more credit, because he has been playing his role for 4 years and imo is a more rounded experienced and dependable RB than the youngsters, and we gonna need him mote than u think. If he could just add a little dash to his smash he would be great.

What?! Did you say you want Morris to underthrow a reciever who's beat his man deep to make the completion? I'm sorry but your logic is flawed.

You do realize that that gives the DB an opportunity to make a play on the ball, and possibly intercept as opposed to overthrowing the receiver and giving the DB no chance to make a play on the ball. This is the same problem that caused Jacory to throw many interceptions and incomplete passes his last couple of years.

Dorsett got a lot of deep looks but was overthrown most of the time.

The QB's couldnt hit the deep ball all day. They were overthrowing everything.

Thanks for the report and write up. The above two points are my major concern with Morris. Sure he was a Frosh & a true Soph last year, but this is what I remember of him on most deep balls, badly overthrowing his receivers.

Hopefully he and whoever the receiver rotation ends up being will start putting in some serious work after hours.

Nothing worse than a qb that cant connect on the deep ball.

I will give him credit, he has done a lot for the team, but I get scared when he runs the ball, he makes me think he is about to fumble.

Not under throw the reciever by 5 yatds but take somthing off of it instead trying to throw the ball 80 yards to no one. Joe Flacco does the samething if he would just take a little off a complete the pass, instead trying to hit the homerun.

Really? Because I can think of about 10.

Throwing at the middle linebacker for one. Another problem Morris has.

I guess I will take overthrows instead of backfoot floaters that fall woefully short every time.

Still with Morris' arm strength an accurate deep ball would change everything for him, especially with what sounds like a solid underneath passing game.

Morris has shown he can throw an accurate deep ball (Notre Dame, Maryland '10, Duke). He may not have been hitting it today but that's not one of his problems.

Hey DMoney, where does his problem lie? What's holding him back from being a high-caliber quarterback? Guy is accurate, has the arm, seems to be decent in the pocket. What is going to hold this kid back from being the top tier quarterback that Miami needs?

You're preaching to the choir. I think he will be top-tier. He hasn't shown the mental command and eyes of a top-tier quarterback to this point, but I attribute that to experience.

Morris will start

We'll see. Golden mentioned Williams has been deadly accurate and has had a 78% completion rate through fall camp. Don't let your blind homerism get in the way of this QB battle. Accuracy and completions beats a strong arm that makes poor decisions.

This...seriously Mike James played with turf toe last year and was asked to play a role and did just that. The only thing I would ask of him is that he protect the football. He is an invaluable leader, teammate, and selfless player. Let's let the year play out before anyone writes a guy like Mike James off.

you can tell this guy didnt see the spring game

Was at the spring game where the defense is light years ahead of the offense. Morris wouldn't have been any better. Tons of talent has been infused since then. Like I said, Morris doesn't impress me at all. I'll take a weaker more accurate arm that makes better decisions over a cannon any day of the week.
