Well this certainly doesn’t sound great

I have never, in my 50 yr relationship with the U, as an alum and a fan, seen and heard so much expert advice on what coulda, shoulda be done. Also have never seen and heard so much whining, gnashing of teeth and BooF**king Hooing about a 9-1 Canes team. This here is a head scratching mfer. Just sayin’
There is a segment of fans who are like cicada's who are right on the verge of emerging after years of saying they are done. Right now they are dusting off their Stacy Coley swag hats, pressing their camo shorts, and watching the Kellen Winslow post Utenn interview.

This is nothing new from Gaby. If you've been listening to their pod, he's been saying for a while now that the new trend is kids committing in summer. The staff absolutely going bonkers with hosting top 2026 kids within the last month or so, is partially due to this new trend. I don't think this class is going to suck.

I think with the last 2 classes being very good, we can afford to use this offseason to go get the best in the portal. We're gonna have to pay for a/the top QB. We desperately need help in the secondary. Those are top $.

The 2026 class will finish where I think most of us thought this 2025 class would finish.

Need legit difference makers at DL, DB, and WR. Those spots win games in CFB.

We signed the best DL class in America last cycle. Those kids take time to develop. I'm not saying you don't need to stack classes...you do. But Mario signed an elite OL class in 2023, he signed an elite DL class in 2024, he's looking to sign an elite DB class in 2025. You're not going to get the best collective group at each position each cycle. No one does, and even if someone did, they're Alabama/UGA/Taint and we're not quite on that level. We're in the next tier down.

So, you identify areas of weakness, and you attack.

Your 3 positions you identified, again we signed arguably the best DL class in the country. We signed an ELITE WR class. DB needs to be better, and again he's trying to close there.

I think it's interesting to hear Mario has to recruit to a certain level because he isn't a good coach. Riddle me what Kirby Smart's record would be if he signed let's say the #12, #8, #11 classes over a 3 year period? Ryan Day? It's about talent, and are some coaches good playcallers, and or scheme, yes. Bottom line is if you don't have the talent you will not win bigly.

People say Kalen Deboar is a great coach, does more with less. I agree he is a very good coach, but last year he had 3 first round picks, and 7 top 100 players at Washington.

Mike Norvell has 8 top 100 picks, and he goes 13-0 and wins ACC. He loses all those players, and now he is 1-9. What changed? Well he lost all his talent.

Last year Miami's defense was much better under Guidry.

He loses Kam, James, Couch, Davis (3 secondary players drafted), also Flagg who many didn't like, but was always in position, was a very smart player and Cloyd who played well in his snaps solid tackler, now the back 7 is a mess with bad angles, confusion, and can't tackle. Did Guidry become and idiot? Is he back on the bottle? Or did he lose better players than what he has now?

could a weak HS finish give us more success in the portal given we saved some money not being able to close on top guys? It would still sting greatly yes, especially not closing on the dbs, but more money opened to nab some top portal dbs potentially

You're better than this.

Our 2023 class was ranked #5
Our 2024 class was ranked #11

I don’t care about composite rankings I care about average recruit ranking and that’s where we were

Currently we are sitting about #13

I’m too old to do this weekly bull**** with recruiting so I’ll revisit this in a few weeks

We’ve got a tough road ahead if we are focused on 6 main guys but let’s see

He already did.
We're a top 12 team in the country. You think he put us at a talent disadvantage? You don't think every team has weaknesses?

Vocal minority of the fanbase sounding like entitled front runners. Expecting the team to be undefeated or it's a huge disaster. As if 100+ teams aren't trying to win the same prize.

This season has been our best in 25+ years. We'll be competitive every year if we continue to recruit at this clip.

What coach that would actually come to Miami is going to get us better high school / portal classes? I'm genuinely curious...

This class is alarming to me. Your best player in the class is a future center.

The next best player has had by many accounts a lackluster senior year (Stubbs).

Your other best players to round out the top 5 kids in the class are a TE from Indiana, a big WR that could be a TE one day and a scat back.

This class strikes me as lacking difference makers. Even though I like some of the lower rated guys and I'm ok with landing 3-4 stars but very few jump out as having elite athletic profiles. I see guys with average athletic profiles (for P2) in the bottom 2/3s of the class.

Couldn’t agree more

There’s a couple of guys lower ranked that I really like (Newton/Simpson/Buchanon) but that doesn’t mean much at this point

These days the signing days should be pretty wild though as teams start jockeying for position once their NIL budgets get clearer and the bidding wars come to a close

I’ve got faith that we do what need done for a few of these guys because no one agrees with you more than Mario I would guess

Too much time left to panic but our eggs seems to be in one smaller basket at this point and they’re basically all tough flips

Top 5 class @ 7-6 last year with one of the most embarrassing losses ever. To a chance to win 12+ games, heisman candidate QB, possible playoff berth, and a possible top 15 recruiting finish?View attachment 310785

Oh Godfather, what can I do???

YOU CAN ACT LIKE A MAN!!!!!!!!! What the heII is wrong with you?!?!?!

Mario ain’t good enough on the field to be getting top 15 classes. Would be a big red flag coming off a season like this

Big money guys better stop being cheap and pony up if we need to overpay
Cause it was never about winning. Recruiting is a separate thing this is more proof of that
