Here are some bits of info from Swasey (via MS from canesport) tried to just grab different quotes from Swasey about players:

Overall the team has 36 players over 20 reps and there are 11 players over 30 reps.

Corey King even got 40 reps.

"At this time we are way ahead of where we were (last spring)," long-time strength coach Andreu Swasey. "It's been a great off-season.

"He(Morris) broke the all-time record (for quarterbacks) in the power clean," Swasey said. "He got 292 (pounds)."

Swasey said Johnson is now pushing 195 pounds after playing last year at under 180 pounds.

"He's (D Dillard) trimmed up, dropped some weight, and we timed him at a 4.5 - when he came he was 4.75," Swasey said. "He lost some good weight, about 15 pounds."

"(Walford) had a tremendous off-season, him and Asante," Swasey said. "I look for those guys to have a great year. I really do."

Swasey says his first impression of 6-foot-8, 318-pound freshman Sunny Odogwu can be summed up in one word.

"I was like `Wow,'" Swasey said. "He's got some natural strength right now; I'm trying to get him weight room strong. We'll continue to develop him with his size. He's a big man, is doing unbelievable, great work ethic, a joy to be around."

"AC was at 230 pounds his first year playing, 235, played last year at 255 and now he's 265, 270," Swasey said. "He's on schedule, holding good weight. He's very explosive, powerful."

"He's (Denzel P) solid, man," Swasey said. "As a freshman he came in at 209, 210 (pounds), went up to 217, 220, and now he's at 233, 235. He's putting on good mass, good size."

Swasey says, is freshman newcomer Alex Figueroa.

"He's been a big surprise - he's going to be a great addition," Swasey said. "He has an unbelievable work ethic, is a good kid."

Swasey said Tracy Howard played at "160, 165" pounds last year.

"Now he's at 181, 182," Swasey said. "We're putting on good size, good weight. I'm very impressed with where we're headed."

"I have no idea what the **** I'm doing," Swasey said. "If my head coach doesn't ride my *** and tell me what to do, I just put on some of my Martin DVD's in my office and let the guys do their thing. Can you believe I have no formal training?"

And with that so begins another dreaded debate on Swasey and our S&C program

I like what I hear about Asante and Clive. Those boys even with Sandland should come in and dominate the line of scrimmage on the edge

Asante has been the weight room MVP the past 2 seasons. 0 ***** given about him he does **** on saturdays.

Whats there to debate? It's AG's S&C program at this point. Swasey hisself said so. And we know what happened when it was Swasey's program. So the only 'debate' is in the mind of folks who have an agenda. Objective folks know better.

Yup.

I've been on Swasey quite a bit but at this point, it's Golden's S&C program and if he feels Swasey is good enough, then I feel he is good enough. We are finally seeing more and more incoming recruits being beasts in the weightroom before they get here, rather than hoping the light comes on before they leave and thats the biggest difference IMO.

Every year we here from this clown about how improved we are. And every year I watch us get mauled physically and look like little boys in uniform.

I have zero doubt we will look and play the same as long as this welfare recipient is allowed to hold a job. Arod, the gift that keeps on giving smh.

Howard looked small last year, so that info makes sense. I now understand why they kept him out of the GT game.

That's not evidence of a S&C issue. That was just a basic wrestling throw. If you come at someone high, that will happen.[/QUOTE

And that was after the whistle, the play was dead and players had slowed up. I'm not debating on Swasey, just know that some now will debate he sucks, others will say no. Personally I think the naysayers are a bit off on him. Are there other coordinators out there that are better? I wouldn't doubt it. Is he the problem? I don't think so, he is at the mercy of his boss. If his boss wants a certain type of physique or conditioning for his players he has to tailor it to that, also the commitment from the players has to be in it as well, under the Coker and Shannon regimes, it is common knowledge how lax and soft things were, so if the leadership promotes that type of environment, the commitment to the weight room will lack as well. Under Golden, that is different, and thus we have seen noticeable changes in the players since Golden's first year. Is this a result of Swasey finally knowing what to do? Of course not, this has to do with the direction and environment cultivated by his boss. And finally, if he truly did suck, then why is it that former players, who are now professionals, who now are playing for real money, and who cannot afford to risk their conditioning and fitness because of that money, why do they return to train with him? These pros have access to the latest of up to date technology to work out and people to work out with, yet they come back here to work out with him. I doubt that these players would risk their professional conditioning, if this guy sucked. I'm not saying he's the best, nor do I agree he sucks either.
