We wont beat top tier Teams

Agreed. Or I would say we won't beat them consistently. We can still win if we get there - you never know what can happen and the most important thing is to get into those games. We are on track to get there and probably lose - but if we get there anything can happen.

If elite u mean Georgia, Alabama, Texas, Oregon, and OSU, then no Shii who thought we were on that level yet? Everyone else is free game though.

I swear I don’t think 80% of this board watches games other than Miami. Y’all watched Ohio State not be able to cover Oregon for **** and think we would have no chance in a shootout? Talking about “We don’t look like a top tier team” as if that’s not something that changes year to year. The big boys finally pulled their heads out of their *** and started playing real offense, you can get the idea of holding top teams under 20 out of your head.

We have an offense that can keep up with anybody, stop doomsdaying.
I agree with the premise but you’re also right

Like I think Texas has elite talent on both sides of the ball but they’ve played defenses that don’t have a pulse all year. How good are they? OSU is not as good in the trenches as people expected

So this “top tier” of teams feels mythical to me because I’m just not seeing it

Granted there’s tons more football to be played

For sure I am enjoying the dub but I’m already looking ahead it’s who I am. I shouldn’t it’s not a good trait to have but I have it lol. But you are right enjoy the w
I actually think this season sets us up for another top shelf portal QB
We
Can be qb portal mercenaries annually for all I care
I’d like cam to win Heisman and lay roadmap for other QBs to follow!

Then on flip side
We need to recruit the **** out of defense on all 3 levels

And I have to wonder why you think we can't beat four of the five, all of whom have showed that they can't stop a good offense.
Those teams are considerably better than us. Better, and more, talent. Better coaches. Clemson will likely beat us if we make it to the acc championship. We are still a few years away.

Texas will lose to Georgia tonight.

Miami doesn't have the personal on the backend to run a exotic d......way too much pre-snap movement.....often confused without the speed to make up ground.....I blame the DC more than anything....

Just being dead *** honest here we wil make the playoffs but wont win big without the secondary being elite, it will cost us vs a top team come playoff time. We getting carried by Ward and I am enjoying at least being good for once but I got to keep it a stack.
You know I hold you in high regard, but I haven't seen any teams with a true lights out defense. Texas probably comes close, but we'll see if @Brooklyndee is correct and we face them in the championship game.

1. I've totally enjoyed how the year has played out so far.

2. Yes, I think our offense allows us to beat probably any team in the country. Top 4 or so would present a problem as other have noted ;i.e. they can likely hold us to sub-50 and we likely allow them above 50.

3. We're not even an average defense in conference play. We are tied for last with NC State in scoring defense at 39 points allowed per game against in-conference opponents.

Again, I'm enjoying the **** out of this season. And I wish that our defense played better than tied for worst in the ACC against in-conference opponents.

With the NC State game having just concluded, we are no longer tied with them for worst ACC defensive against in-conference opponents.

UM now has the bottom ranked defense among all ACC teams against in-conference opponents.

In all honesty if that's our only loss being in the playoffs I'll take it... Considering what I've watched the past 20+ years that kind of loss isn't the worst thing in the world at all....
Losing to FSU or Duke on the other hand.... Well .. ya know... Lol

Fair, we may not be quite at the very top tier with Texas, who may in a class of their own. But every other team has glaring flaws, or at least has shown some at points.

The main point is people keep throwing out this “We don’t look like an X team”, be that top ten, top tier, championship, whatever, but none of that exists in a vacuum.
