We need Rivers and Bain

Nobody on this site knows a thing. And those on the inside will never share because that’s how Mario wants it. So we just take it week by week and roll with the guys who are available.

We said Bell would struggle when the comp was upped we weren’t lying
True. Hopefully this experience helps his development. Dude is huge but has a lot to learn. In the summer when people start talking about Juco's and recruits being "day one starters" they need to remember tonight and pause.

I'm just gonna say it one more time…And I'll probably get dragged

YOU AREN'T GOING TO WIN A SHIP if you never play hurt. Baron gutted it out tonite… As he was limping badly, and I was glad to see him show heart and play through it. But some guys that are nursing some things need to get on the field. No one is 100% or even 90 during the dog days of a football season.
Its September lol

As much as people don't like it, with the new format it's an extra long season.

I get it, you don't wanna push a guy and then lose him for the rest of the season.

So far I was dead wrong about him. When I saw his first game I was like holy **** he needs work

On passing plays, our OL got beat several times, and Bell especially struggled. But overall they held up on their assignments. The reason we had breakdowns was because Va Tech was bringing heat on nearly every play. The short game was available and we should have been getting the ball out much faster. Instead Cam took way too long to develop plays or wasn't on the same page as his safety options in many cases. He was off, it happens. He's still the best QB we've had in 30 years.

They need to go back to the drawing board with the run game. Martinez is struggling in our formations, I feel for the guy because he has talent, but he's not the right RB for this team unless Dawson and Ward are willing to change up their playcalling and scheme. Fletcher and Lyle seem better suited for what we do, as does Allen. Why wasn't he in the game? And I know we love tight formations. But maybe we should be a little more multiple there? Seemed like just one defender needed just one step to disrupt a run.

I pretty much agree with this entire post, but to expand on our o-lines problems with their pass rush, after rewatching the game and focusing on the o-line play it was really wasn’t a matter of getting beat physically/pushed around.

VT did a very good job of disguising its blitzes and sending delayed pressure. On a number of occasions VT had 7+ in the box and a couple of their guys would wait a few yards off the LOS and pick their shots when they saw our o-lineman were engaged with their d-lineman. These were not D’nofrio delayed blitzes coming from 10 miles away. This was a close quarters, aggressive, well designed scheme that had our guys extremely confused. We need to learn from this game because I’m sure our future opponents will try to replicate it going forward

Hope I'm wrong but guessing we hold them out next week as well so they get the extra week to heal with the bye the following week. Issue is with how banged up our team is, traveling cross-country, playing at 10:30 pm normal body clock, & Cal coming off a bye not sure if we get out of Berkley with a win.

Bottom line, bell has allowed to many clean shots on ward. We have to protect the best player in the country. We need rivers back asap. On top of that all the penalties and points off the board that keeps happening because of #70
