VT's defense is what it is every year under Foster - very, very good. But, as one might expect of a Gator, Palmer was way over the top. Other than obviously Alabama, they havent played anybody. Shockingly, GT struggles to run the ball. Word is their QB is the best passer of the Paul Johnson era (talk about a backhanded compliment), but doesn't appear a great runner himself and struggles running the option.
Palmer and others point to VT shutting down Alabama. Well, hard to say shut them down when you lose 35-10. Also, Bama scored TDs on returns of a kickoff, punt and interception. So their offense wasn't on the field mushc and didn't really have to much. Believe they ran about 60 plays.
Based on what saw of the VT secondary last night, Morris and his receivers can do some damage if the OL gives them time.
Finally, if Miami is really back and headed in the right direction, it needs to have its way with both GT and VT. We shall see.
