And at an absolute minimum, if Mario can’t take us to the ‘ship, we will have a super loaded roster ready made for an elite coach to take us that last mile.

Which would make HC at the U a very attractive proposition.

That said, I’m not writing Mario off after the Year 1 abortion. If Ed O can win a ring, then you know it’s doable for Mario.

At 6'2, 200+ he has the size the NFL drools over but, to me, this kid is still a project. I don't know if we should be oenciling him in a starter just yet.

We will find out what Addae is made of. If he started as a SEC CB as a freshman, even for 1 game, and is a NFL prototype already, then addae should be the happiest guy is coral gables. There's alot to work with but I don't know if he's an instant starter or a savior just yet

Lol don't be emotional. There are some on here naming him a starter with limited game film or any verified stats.

In the same post, I acknowledge that his 'one start' is something to work with. I also stated that he appears to be a project, more than a starter, like some are suggesting.

If anything, my post was suggesting we temper our expectations a bit. I'm not sure who he's competed with at Vandy (spring ball) but I'm willing to bet A&M (who we play in sept) starters has better. This isn't a slight at the young man. It's just reality
 
Getting Richard makes me feel a heck of a lot better about corner. Adding the running back for depth is nice. But for those that don’t think Malone wouldn’t be either starting or at the least playing major snaps they crazy. I hope
He’s next. Then we really are getting somewhere.

Richard is fast 4.45 40 at TCU last summer and 11.02 100 meter high school track. Not bad for a 6'2" 197 pounds. Not to many players on the team can run that fast. Chris Graves best is 11.01 at 6'1" 175 pounds. Malik Curtis 10.81 is the fastest on defense at 5'11' and 170 pounds. Davonte Brown at 11.13 and 6'2" 185.

Nobody is making him a starter because of what he did at Vandy, but only will if/when/because of what is NOT on Miami's current roster.

Again, the kid is developing AS YOU WOULD EXPECT from a freshman, so there is no reason for him to be a finished product that is a polished starter already. He's got 4 games against so-so competition to get his feet wet at UM before the ACC schedule starts.

Learn about the kid. He's very promising, and Vandy didn't want him to leave, they didn't push him out. He's not coming for massive NIL. This is a great take, because he doesn't have built-in bad habits or "this is how we did it at Vandy" yet, you can coach him up along with the other new guys, nobody really has an advantage.
