Valentine down to Miami and LSU

For those that know can TV realistically start at LSU from day 1 like he can here if he's all that he's hyped up to be?
He's a pro. Only lacking technique on converting to pass rush. He may not be a day 1 starter. But on Day 1 he's getting in by play 3 or 4.

Stop being so gullible. If Powell wanted to be here he would have.
Golden better not lie to him like he lied to Powell.

What did he lie about?

He told him we were recruiting Cook as a CB.

Where did you hear that from? Pretty sure that was internet fodder.

The internet. Lulz.

But with what's been going on recently, why shouldn't I believe it?

My only fear here is that TV wants immediate pt. LSU coaches can point out that there are at least 6 upperclassmen he will have to beat out this fall; senior Olsen Pierre and jrs King, Hamilton, Moore and the two JCs. Not to mention Kamalu. In 2015 we will have 5 seniors DTs. If we dont get TV the cupboard is pretty empty with just Jenkins and Moten in future years. Now I realize TV is a better prospect than the upperclassmen but he will have to have the confidence that he can beat them out this fall.

The more I hear of this kid, the more I like. Wherever he picks, kid is going to have a great future. He's obviously a baller but appears to be a very level headed and thoughtful kid.

If you really look at productively in the NFL Miami and Golden/Donofrio/Temple can sell as much as LSU IMO.

First Olivier Vernon had double digit sacks as a 2nd year player this year. More productive than the overrated busts LSU puts in the leAgue.

2nd Golden and coach d at temple found and developed a current DL star in Mohammed Wilkerson better than any DL LSU has put in the league.

So from both standpoints we can sell.

Sure seems that way, but IIRC Tunsil was advising and assisting TV, and his due diligence is in process.

no disrespect to King Moore or Hamilton, but they should not even be mentioned as deterrents for TV. None are impact players and we are in trouble if any of them are getting significant snaps. Also, Kamalu is not a nose. Really its Pierre, the two jucos (who seem promising but are unproven)and TV (if he comes) and courtel

because in theory a brain would be used... Al might be a lot if things but telling someone possibly a top 5 consensus rb in the country is a lie that any rational person would know would never be coming from him. It's beyond insane. Even urban wouldn't say that.

Travonte valentine is better than any dt we got on miami roster and that's the truth. He will start as a freshmen. We lost about 3-4 dtackles this year. There is immediate playing time available for him here....

This. Even if Al said this ( and he didn't) nobody in their right mind would believe it. You'd have to be an idiot to buy that .

A coach can easily discredit that with lack of results in college. "Would you rather be an All-American for most years and then go to the NFL or have 30 tackles in 4 years and then go to the NFL? "

What? Those guys produced in college too, and btw the DT Knighton for Denver who is dominating today AFC Title game also a Golden Donofrio Temple special.

Golden/Dono >>>

Champagnat Catholic, Hialeah, Fla. defensive tackleTravonte Valentine*has been linked to LSU for quite some time now. The 6-3, 338-pound behemoth is set to visit the Tigers on January 24 in what could be the end of his recruitment. He took an unofficial to Miami this past weekend, but as they pressured him for a commitment, he made it known that he wasn't in a position to give them one at that time. In fact, we have learned that Miami trails LSU significantly at this stage of the process with those close to him calling it a done deal for the Tigers. As we have all learned this recruiting cycle, there is no such thing. However, LSU appears to be in great shape at this time.
