I thought it was up to the players to execute the gameplan put in by the coach. If the coach has the players in the right place and they miss a tackle or drop a pass, that's on the players, not the coaches. At this level you should know how to tackle and catch a pass.

If the coaches can't get the players to execute they are doing a ****** job, bottom line. Randy Shannon put in plenty of game plans that the team failed to execute but in the end it wasn't cause the gameplans sucked, it was because Randy sucked at getting our guys to execute them. I've long thought that the problem with this defense wasn't really the "scheme" but that our coaches aren't that good at teaching our guys how to play zone and do all the little things required to succeed at this level.
 
I guess we have a different view of what "execute" means. I understand what you're saying, I just would have worded it in a different way.

Maybe you should be our QB coach then. Since ppl are stuck in the glory years here. When was it ever about Miami's scheme? Da U was built on dominating the guy in front of you. Randy Shannon went from Guru to Corch? Larry Coker went from Guru to Corch?

No need to...our current qb coach/oc...carved up No frio's d all spring...with basic sh*t plays and walk on wr's.

Randy Shannon was never a GURU....he was a solid dc...but a CORCH as a head man..he had no experience and started off with a staff of no experience...

Problem is our coach really isnt putting guys in position to BEAT anyone every play....how the **** is Gionni Paul going to Beat his man..when he is matched up in the slot against UVA'S fastest player.....Gionni Paul is 5'10..struggles in covg...but kid is pretty good in run support and plays downhill...so umm...he's a guy i likely would send on a blitz more so than have him matched up out wide trying to haul *** with a receiver....
I really think he doesnt know or trust his personnel all that much...dude really needs to go to the coaches convention and hit up nfl cmps cuz he isnt good at anything right now. And the dude he and Golden came up under...Al Groh's defense has look like sh*t in this conference for awhile too.

I don't know about that. I watched the spring game and the offense in that game was ugly to say the least. The fact the our defense actually held its own at times during the spring tells me all I need to know about this offense. They go into huge funks for long portions of every game.
