Using FSU (especially Winston's) confidence against them

So Sentrel Henderson shutting down Werner a future NFL player was all because of emotion and had nothing to do with technique or skill?

Come one guys emotion only takes you far. If you think emotion is all it's going to take to beat **** Winston you will be in for a rude awakening. They aren't going to loose confidence after a bad quarter or a bad half. Same thing with us facing UNC.y We played terrible for 3 quarters did we loose confidence? Did all the emotion win them the game? No! In the end their lack of execution and poise cost them what should have been a win. We have got to play excellent football for 4 quarters. Seriously you think we are going to stroll in make a few plays and totally take all their confidence away?

Of course we have skill, but we had no business being within 3 after 3 based on depth and talent across the board. We lost in the end because they wore us down

One thing I've noticed with Winston is that when things aren't going well his inner b*tch comes out. Even saw that last night after he threw the int. If we can confuse him a bit early and get a TO, he might just implode.

I would say the way we played on defense was where it was most evident. Our offense was solid last year but we hung tough because the defense played out of their minds.

Whole lot of psychologists, psychoanalysts, group therapists, seers, and soothsayers, and sages in this thread.

Not having the insight of the rest of you, I'll just say that if we play FSU like we've been playing, and FSU plays like they did last night, FSU will rip us a whole new sphincter opening.

The whole **** game boils down to the QB matchup.

If Morris plays like ****, we'll most likely be in for a long, long game.

I dont know what teams you've been watching but FSU beats us by at least 40 if both teams play exactly as they have been the past 3 weeks. Might not be that close...

What I would do, is slow the game down and run, run, run, run, run, and run some more. Speed this game up and run the clock as much as possible and play keep away from Aunt Jemima. That's not what we do, but that's what I'd do. The more Clemson tried to force the issue, the worse it got for them. They got worked over like a $2 ***** because of QB play and skill player turnovers (sound familiar?). We protect the football and play soundly, we have more than a chance.

If I was FSU, I would be giddy as **** if I saw UM going hurry up, I'd pressure the **** out of Morris and make sure the corners and safeties play deep and off the route, when Morris misses, he misses high, ungodly high. And he tries the 50 yd bomb once a quarter, sometimes it works....

One more thing, Miami's redzone efficiency on offense is horrendous, is high. They will score, a lot. UM will score, but we cant accept field goals, not on November 2, 2013.

You are never as good or bad as you think you are.

Whatever BC did offensively is what Miami needs to do against FSU.

Then let Miami play, well, Miami style defense and we win that game. :crownpour:

Emotion, psychology...whatever.

The key to this game, for BOTH teams, is Stephen Morris. Total wildcard. If the "good" Morris walks off that bus, Miami wins. If Jacory's second cousin twice removed shows up...we get destroyed.

Look no further than that gentlemen. No need to overanalyze....Morris has the potential to be the best player for EITHER team on Nov 2nd.

yeah, pretty much... yep.

Possibly Coley can take some of the bad habits of Morris off the table. While our wide receivers may blow down the field deep, maybe convey that Morris is to ignore these deep runs, and concentrate on the 5-15 yard stuff. WHEN he throws.

Run, run, run, and break FSU's heart and spirit.

Keep their offense off the field, and when it's on the field, play like madmen.

Maybe the sarcasm wasn't obvious enough.

"If FSU plays awesome and Miami plays bad then they'll win."

LULZ if you think emotion and intensity doesn't matter in a rivalry game.

Exactly. Emotion and not talent was the one reason we played FSU even for 3 quarters last year.

The talent disparity isn't in the front line guys. It's in the depth. DP would be their best linebacker. They recruited Tracy Howard and deon bush. We recruited a lot of the guys on their team. The difference is Jimbo has a head start on golden so the noles are a much deeper teAm.

The talent disparity (because of lack of experience) was much larger last year because all our guys were puppies. Players get better the longer they're in the program. We hung with them last year with a one-legged erratic QB and a bunch of mummies and stiffs on the DL because we outhustled them. That's all there is to that.

They will likely come in this year thinking they're going to walk over us because that's human nature. They'll be hearing for 2 weeks how they're unbeatable, and our guys will be hearing about how they stand no chance against Jemima and Co.

Remember when we were supposed to destroy them when sorry *** Chris Rix was their QB and we were at the peak of college football? They came into the OB and ran it down our throats all day with Greg Jones and almost pulled off a monster upset because we took them lightly and drank too much of our own bathwater. That's how rivalry games work. Huge emotion component.

LULZ. Deep thoughts. If fsu plays the best that they've ever played (the Clemple game) and we play terrible and turn it over 4 times we'll lose.

Morris can play a great game, and if our defense comes out flat and let's Jemima go off, then we could still get shredded. Obviously, if Morris plays like a diarrhea puddle like he's been playing we stand no chance. That's a given. You cats can try to discount the emotion factor of a rivalry game, but that's just nonsense.

It's real because you agree.

What a profound statement you agree with, if FSU plays great and we turn it over we will lose.

That is real s.hit right there.

Side note, how much are you hoping for us to lose against FSU?

Answer this question, off topic (so maybe you will answer): Am I fat or little, I know we never met and you don't know me at all but I have been called both by you and I am confused.

How excited are you for us to lose a game this season? Come on share your hate.
