USF Post Game Plus/Minus

I think you summed it up, this team looked bored. They were sloppy. Even the second and third stringers, which is shocking. You expect those kids to get in the game and play as hard as the first stringers, but even they were bored. I guess when you play eight quarters against the worst team in the FCS and one of the worst teams in FBS, that'll happen.

I can't wait to get into ACC play where this team will have to play a full four quarters.

The important thing is when our first team offense was in there we did whatever we wanted. We needed to look crisp and we did. That Morris throw to Coley was just ridiculous.

The defense seemed a little confused at first and that Shaw kid is a legit back.

Many more positives to take from this game than negatives, especially our QB play.

+ Shayon Green with a huge play at the goal line (and he can finally quit hearing about not having a sack)
+ OC James Coley (first time I've felt good about his playcalling, play design etc.)
+ Blowout wins allowing for backups to get a lot of playing time (something that hasn't happened very often in the past several seasons).

Another minus... Gus the bus not being able to punch it in on the goalline, and Goudis missing a 20 yard field goal.

We got some things to iron out but I'm encouraged the offense played as well as it did. This team is going to be very good as the season goes on, that's awesome. We look like a legit top 10 team right now.

Only issue I saw with first team O was Duke got lazy with ball protection. Both of those fumbles were on him. I don't ever expect that from him, so I will just chalk that up to being bored after playing two terrible teams back to back. Otherwise, first team O, as well as first team when Williams was running the offense after Morris' injury, looked good.

According to the Herald, Dorsett hurt his shoulder (not sure how serious) and Clements had a hamstring (I think) and that's why he didn't play. Also, Golden supposedly told the media he went to bed last night thinking Williams would start, but decided on Morris after seeing him warmup.

After hearing Morris call out USF for being dirty, I actually want to schedule them again next year and hang 70 on them.

Due to Als no huddle offense, which he ran into the 3rd qt and me watching with my own eyes during TV timeouts and the Dukester wolfing with the USF D after every carry...I concur.....From now on every D we play will try to hurt Duke......Fact...They twisted, turned and did every bad tackle move you did since peewees against Duke.....seen by a non fan girl who commented after I told her about good players....Duke

Minus: Taggart is a **** for leaving his first team in

This.

Not to mention it was annoying watching their "ones" jumping around celebrating after making little league type plays on our third string.
Pathetic!!

Made the comment to my wife when one of their players made a play and started celebrating big time. I was like "Dude, it's 49-7" and of course my wife says he can't hear you! lol

Sounds exactly how it was at my house lol

Their starters celebrating against our 3rd string their beyond pathetic but when you lose to mcneese state at home I guess you take any kinda joy you can

We blowing teams out and STILL haven't peaked

People complaining about that? lulz

People arent complaining dude. Its a thread where we are discussing the good and bad things we saw. Yes, it was a great win, but there are some issues that we obviously need to work on, and there is nothing wrong with discussing them. Its not being "negative" or b*tching about the team or spoiled. If people were all in here b*tching overall, then yes, but the point of the thread is to discuss the things we did well, AND some of the things we need to work on.

This was our last "scrimmage" before we really get into the meat of our schedule. We need to really iron out the kinks. As crazy as it sounds, if this team can fix a few kinks, Morris can get that ankle healed, and play to his potential, we COULD, be talking about an MNC run this year. I dont think there is anything wrong with discussing some areas where we could improve.

There is a difference between a thoughtful discussion of the things we did well, vs mistakes we made. And being a miserable d0uche who complains even in victory. I dont think people are complaining, just wanting us to correct the mistakes so that we beat the teams that we should be able to beat this year.
