these are two different proceedings.
there is nevin shapiro's bankruptcy case in which Perez is involved and as part of that case she took the depositions of pee wee allen and others with the NCAA's instructions.
the order that attached by the OP arose following a criminal case in federal court several years ago (not related to any of the shapiro cases) in which she represented a criminal defendant and screwed up so badly that the court admonished her and assigned an attorney to monitor and mentor Perez to make sure she did not ***** up again. the order admonishing Perez reads as follows: "Magistrate Johnson determined that Ms. Perez's failure to perfect the appeal was based on bad faith as a matter of law and fact . . . Ms. Perez's actions fell below the required standards of conduct and professionalism . . . Ms. Perez's testimony at the January 21, 2010 hearing was not credible. Magistrate Johnson concluded that Ms. Perez's statements were made with a wanton and reckless disregard for the truth."
because she is still under the court's supervision for her lies and misconduct [something like probation], the court now wants to know whether she committed any ethical violations in taking the depositions essentially on behalf of the NCAA.
i think she's in deep doo doo.
