Up to #11 in AP, up to #10 in the Coaches poll

Is UGA really as good as they were the last two years?

They haven't exactly been world beaters this season either.
maybe not but are you really implying we should be higher than bama?

do you think UGA beating clemson (who looks really good right now) 38-3, and beating Kentucky (just beat ole miss) is comparable to virginia tech or USF?

it'll sort itself out in a few weeks, but I think our ranking is fair

All we have to do is take care of biz. Same rhetoric was said about UW last season, & they took care of business. We can’t control our schedule, but we can control our wins. As these SEC teams & B1G teams start beating up on each other, we’ll automatically move up regardless of how the voters feel about our schedule.

We’re going to be just fine, my brotha. Keep beating the **** outta these bums, & be in the CFP easy.
This, and only this.

I didn't even say 10-2. I'm saying we could get snubbed at 12-1 if we lose the ACC-CG to Clemson. Clemson could get snubbed at 11-2 if we beat them in the ACC-CG.

The ACC hate is real.
We would at least be ahead of ND, given this scenario.

And you know what will really happen...

ND is 6 spots behind us in AP and 5 spots behind us in the coaches poll, after an unforgivable loss to Northern Illinois at home. Meanwhile, we actually BEAT one of the better teams in the ACC.

If Miami slips ONCE against an ACC team (and the remaining 7 games are all ACC games), somehow Notre Dame will be ahead of us with their loss to Northern Illinois.

Even after THIS schedule (of which 3 games will be against COMMON OPPONENTS), I guaran-*******-tee you that a 1-loss ND will be ranked ahead of a 1-loss Miami.

i fully believe only the ACC winner will get in.

I tend to agree with you.

And the point is very simple. Every weekend, somebody survives a Hail Mary attempt. But only when it's MIAMI does the rest of the college football world treat it as if we lost the game.

Does anyone go back and retroactively "give us" the win over GaTech last year when the refs mistakenly called a fumble on Don Chaney? No.

Its not a big deal, ultimately. But Oregon jumps us after beating a really, really bad UCLA despite having looked like crap against Idaho, which is far worse than a tight win against VTech? That makes no sense.
IMO most of the voting media considers the VT game a gift or loss, vs the coaches who know better.

Looking ahead, the first CFP rankings are going to be announced on Tuesday, November 5 , from 7-8 pm on ESPN

. The committee members will convene in person on Mondays and Tuesdays, revealing their rankings each week on ESPN.

November 12, 19, 26
December 3
December 8th is selection Sunday and final rankings, matchups and sites will be announced

assuming we beat cal convincingly, we'll be top 5 by the time we play lousiville on 10/19

10/12 games
  • #3 Ohio State @ #6 Oregon on 10/12 - guessing oregon loss but doesn't matter
  • #7 Penn State @ #13 USC on 10/12 - guessing penn state loss but doesn't matter as penn state will lose later on
10/19 games
  • #5 UGA plays @ #2 Texas (guess we'd rather UGA lose and be out of it all)
  • #1 Bama plays @ #4 Tennessee - we'd probably prefer bama just keep winning and hand out L's to all other SEC teams
actually pretty wild that all 7 teams above us play someone ranked in the top #13 in the next two weeks

very realistic outcome is ohio state beating oregon, USC beating penn state, Texas beating UGA, Bama beating tennessee

if we beat cal and Louisville and the above happens, we'll be #4 come 10/26 against FSU behind bama, texas, and ohio state

And at the end of the day that’s what matters. Just keep advancing. Hopefully SMU and Duke (and Clemson) keep winning, too so we can get some “quality” opponent bumps.

I can see one loss teams jumping us if they have better “quality wins” honestly. Luckily Louisville is still ranked so that would count as one, but I can’t imagine facing another ranked team on our schedule until potentially Clemson in the ACC championship game.

But I’m also of the mindset that two ACC teams can make it in if we and Clemson win the rest of our games and meet up in the conference championship. By that time we’re probably top 5 maybe top 3 if things break our way with other teams losing and Clemson would be top 12.

We deserve the drop.
Eeking out a win against a 2-2 VT team at home is unacceptable based on the talent we have. Hope this serves to motivate.
They are better than you'd think. It wasn't a great matchup for us. We obviously didn't play well, but I think we played the team VT was supposed to be this year.

Unacceptable? Eh, there are about 2-3 teams that can play bad and roll. We are somewhere between 5 and 50 on any given day. We are a B tier team. We always need to play well.

Are they seriously doing first rankings November 5? Because there’s nothing else important going on in the country that day that people will be paying attention to.

I just want to point out that Notre Dame is the fifth (coaches) or sixth (AP) highest ranked 1-loss team after losing to NORTHERN ILLINIOIS at home.

Georgia lost to #1/#2 Alabama on the road by 7.
Michigan lost to #1/#2 Texas.
USC lost to Michigan on the road by 3.
Ole **** just lost to Kentucky by 3.
LSU lost to USC by 7.

Oregon best wins: #21 3-1 Boise st, 3-1 Oregon st
Boise just spanked a 3-0 washington st team

Penn state best wins: Just beat #21 4-0 Illinois

Miami best win: 2-2 vtech who i think will be good, win should age better but they were still 2-2. Usf win aged bad because they got killed by tulane. Uf is uf

We were over oregon the last two weeks because of their struggles but they beat 3 p4 teams and two solid teams. If usf didn’t lose that bad to tulane while boise had a good win vs wash at would have understand but it was the opposite

I know yall think its oh they hate miami but this is simple logic for week to week rankings.

And you know what will really happen...
ND and Miami bumped by the mighty SEC??
I can't see ND over us if we win @UL with our only loss to a top-15 (top-10) Clemson.

I posted this earlier...
5 SEC
3 BIG
1 GO5
1 BIG 12
2 ACC

Only if **** Face or LSU win vs one of the big boys will they get 6 in.
Bama/UGA/Texas hold serve we good.

The 1 loss would have to be in the ACCCG.
If we have a rematch with Louisville, you're right.
If we smoke UL and lose a tight one to Clemson, we're in. Especially if Clemson climbs into the top-10.
1 more win, no CG for ND, and a better loss is the way i see it.

In other options...
Scale of 1-10, what are the odds uF pulls one out of their *** and beats on of the 5 teams ranked in the top-13.
I figured you'd be the guy to give us a solid, unbiased answer 🤣
