Uncle Luke told to leave the building

Luke has been a fan his entire life. He helped put Miami on the map. In the 80's and 90's Luke made it fun to attend Miami. In every video he had on Canes Gear. Even his former artist such as poison clan and trick daddy repped the canes hard. UM's style of play and Luke's music was a perfect match.

Fans love to call him an idiot for saying what most of this board say everyday. The notion that speaking negative in the media is bad for the University but running to one of the most read sites bashing players and coaches which are read by the media and recruits is any better. With the advancement of social media, do you really think we are the only ones who read the comments we make on this site? Luke just keeps it real and we should appreciate him for being a voice for our frustrations. We were calling him an idiot for his comments before the Louisville game until they kicked our teeth in and layed down like some suckers. When flat out got punked like some sissies.

Expecting people to forget how the system treated African Americans is not easily done. **** as fans we think because our players are black that most come from the inner city and are poor. We naturally assume that to be the case. stereotyping is still alive and strong.

He's an idiot with a sense of entitlement. I can't think of one good reason as to why he would randomly show up during a recruiting visit weekend. Even if it was to support one of his former players, who does that and then splatters it all over twitter?

Visit some other weekend if you have to feel important.

Luke is always on campus.

so he shouldn't act like a jackass and tarnish the reputation of the school because he was asked to leave during an important recruiting weekend since he was violating recruiting rules. show some loyalty. Seems to me like he has a personal agenda.

Lets keep it real.

The only thing tarnishing our schools reputation is continuing to get beat down on national TV. We did not have this many beat downs during probation.

Who cares if he's a fan? He consistently disparages the school now that he has a "blog" on new times. Frankly, I've read his stuff and you may think he's keeping it real but I see his articles as clearly agenda driven and often times, loaded with inaccuracies.

We are also just coming off NCAA penalties and the last thing we need is to have a guy who has been accused of improper benefits walking around campus. How people don't see this is beyond me. He is a loudmouth and undermines golden quite a bit.

You can be a fan without having to do all those things.

Luke was never tied to any NCAA improper benefits. Nothing has ever been proven. What is Luke saying that is any different from the many threads and post on this and other cane sites?

Golden undermines himself by getting ripped by teams on Saturday while giving up 600 yards on defense.

1. Perception is reality, he's a rogue booster.

2. we post here, but we don't do idiotic things to hurt the program and then blast it over twitter.

3. This has nothing to do with Golden, it has to do with hurting the program.

That's not the point here. We get it, we suck, no one argues that point.

Ok Luke you can shut up now. Take your **** over to the New Times blog. No one wants to hear it here.

Luke was never formally accused of improper benefits, correct, but you're being obtuse if you don't think past involvement with the team doesn't bring an interest by the compliance group at UM and the NCAA. Again, that kind of presence is the last thing we need - there's no reason we need the appearance of impropriety near the school.

As for undermining golden, do you even read what luke says? He criticized Shannon as well.

Stereotyping is still alive and strong? Well, yes, it is. The problem is two-fold, Luke himself is a master of stereotyping others and being racist, plus he deliberately and intentionally tries to BE all of the stereotypes that you are railing against.

LUTHER R CAMPBELL ‏@unclelukereal1 15h

Everything is cool with me an miami I had a great conversation with the people there. Time to move on

Isn't this a recruiting violation?

I'll never understand why UM associates with Campbell. The guy is a hardcore ****** and portrays such a negative image that somehow has lingered on now for 30 years. And this tainted image reflects on UM. It's why no one outside of the 305 believes Miami has cleaned anything up when you have this clown around the program and talking to recruits no less!

F'ing stupid!

For those not thinking it's a big deal....

From the Herald

### UM said it might need to self-report a secondary NCAA violation committed when the mother of quarterback/UM oral commitment Brad Kaaya on Friday asked former rapper Luther Campbell to take pictures with them during Kaaya’s campus visit. But it wouldn’t jeopardize Kaaya’s eligibility if he ends up enrolling at UM.

It’s a violation because only school staff members and faculty are allowed to have contact with a recruit during an official visit.

A staffer witnessed the exchange and told UM associate athletic director Craig Anderson, who asked Campbell to leave. But UM said contrary to Campbell’s tweet, he wasn’t permanently banned from campus.

Campbell, who took the pictures, said on WINZ-940 that Kaaya told him he will visit UCLA and that he was “thinking about coming to Miami."

Campbell told Kaaya that offensive coordinator James Coley “is a great guy” and also mentioned Michael Irvin to Kaaya, hoping that would help Miami’s chances of landing him.

“I had a great conversation with the people there [at Miami],” Campbell tweeted tonight. “Time to move on.”

He also said “everything is cool with me [and] Miami.”

Campbell, who has criticized Al Golden in the past, has an unresolved defamation suit against Nevin Shapiro. Campbell previously was an assistant coach at Miami Northwestern High.

:fistbump:Its not popular to say anything positive about Luke, but I agree w/everything u said.

In this situation he made a mistake that maybe he should've known wasn't right. No doubt in my mind he had no ill intentions though. Sounds like he was given the courtesy of an explanation & understands why the school erred on the side of caution

We are trying to build the program back from 3 yrs of NCAA bs, yet Luke showed up and is willing to take a picture with a recruit. If he is always on campus I'm sure he is aware of the rules. So him being there shows neglect and reckless on his part

**** at least have Al and Donna take him to the side and explain why he has to leave.

This is hilarious. People actually think that Donna Shalala just hangs around Hecht going over recruiting info and can just step outside to talk to Uncle Freaking Luke.

UMs image will always be thug u, y not embrace it? pushing it away n trying to b havard or choir has produced garbage teams n no type of 1str ound talent. N dont gimee the coaches talk, its the admin they want everyone perdect. Goldens d sx i agree but when u look deeper this will set up n e coach 2 fail because of location. Location is a strength and when we try to be harvard it get kids not able 2 get in n it also wipes the recruiting pitch that we graduate playerBS. That may b true but 2 dumber schools recruit better UF n FsU. We need 2 get our head out of r azzes n fix that if we truly want 2 be elite again

Cut this 30 for 30 Bull**** out...Winning made it cool to attend Miami. Schnellenberger and Johnson made it cool to attend Miami. Local kids buying into a vision made it cool to attend Miami. Luke and 2 Live Crew weren't even popular until AFTER we won a Chip. NC in 1983....2 live crew blows up in 1985.

ESPN and Billy Corben ruined the Miami fanbase

Dude is a half-*** HS football coach, and a FORMER rap star with a highly questionable background which includes ****. Explain to me again why the President of the school owes him a god**** thing?
