Also, if you're an inner city kid a word of advice would be to steer as far away from Luther Campbell as humanly possible if you want to come here. He's like having Stalin as your hypeman.

Luke is heavy into the community and always helping kids along with their families. He is a very positive figure in the inner city

Most have the grades to come to UM but are not heavily recruited (3 stars) Many go on to become really good players at other Universities. Lukes want those kids at Miami. How is that a bad thing?

lol i love how u keep mentioning golden doesnt recruit guys bc of the number of stars. take a look at the stars of some of the guys on the current roster and guys currently committed when golden first offered em.

This is the problem that I see a lot of fans have. Most of the kids on the roster at UM are not from the inner city (hood). Just because they are black does not mean they grew up poor or live in the hood. It puzzles me why people continue to assume that our black players are poor and from the hood when most are not.

Who exactly were these bad boys we use to have? The old school Canes were far from the type the now hold themelves to be. I am Italian and someimtes hearing Mike and Thrill talk they remind me of all the little Italian guys I know, all pretending they are some sort of "good fellow" and mob guy. JJ's Canes had a fantastic graduation rate. Most seem to be anything but bas asses. It is the scum gators that are the criminals. We have had several Canes shot to death, but I can't recall any Cane killing someone else. What, did some of them do drugs -- oh my. So did Bush and Clinton.

I love the old Canes, but we are not allowed that on field behavior now. Their off the field behavior was never what they pretended it to be. It fit the persona so they ride with it. Listen to Thrill Hill speak. Does he sound like some thug? For God sake, he works for Homeland Security. You think he has some rap sheet. Do you actually think Howard recruited the bad kids from bad hoods? He recruited the good kids from the bad hoods. Urban might recruit thugs but THE U never actually did. I grew up in Carol City, worked in Opa Locka, Liberty City and other bad hoods. Where there bad asses there? **** yeah. Few if any ever made it to THE U. The badest boys, died you idiots. The ones who did not, went to prison for killing them.

I remeber a couple Canes getting stopped with a gun in the car. Wow! I kept a semi-auto carbine in they truck of my car at high cchool in the 60's. Did that make me some bad *** THE U should recruit. Some of you show just how white you are and others show just how limited you are in understanding the culture of the kids you cheer for each saturday.

Luke is simply advocating for the recuitment of more inner city kids. Alot of these kids are 3 stars in which a lot go on to other colleges and become really good players. Most without even getting a look at from UM.

It amazes me that some of you can cheer for these kids and know so little about their journeys in life or their culture.

Luke does not hate UM and he simply is speaking for his community in which produces most of UM's talent. The inner city would love nothing more than to send all of their kids to UM. We all know that can't happen but people live and die for the canes in the inner city. A lot just never get recruited because they are 3 star players. Luke and the inner city would love to send more kids that truley represent the city.

Stop with the melodrama. A lot don't get recruited cause they can't write at a 4th grade level.
Luke and every inner city apologists should be advocating education, parenting, instead trying to make UM the inner cities ticket out of their problems.

Dwintitles why argue with these cats , only a few of them know how it was back in the day.Nobody loves the U more than uncle Luke, he just keeps it 100.The playmaker even said we need to recruit some dogs, we haven't had those kind of cats since Lsu raped us.I knew then we were trouble, they did to us what we used to do.This team has some dogs Perryman is an example. Clements , Duke and Coley are 100 percent dogs.Golden is doing a great job! It will be scary to see what he will do when this cloud is lifted.
