We have gained weight, but lost speed. One day we won't have a janitor or whatever the **** Swasey is as our SandC coach.

hey, UM is only down by 4 playing their worst half of ball on the road. But this is a gut check and a test of how far this program has come. Lets see how the last 30 minutes play out. No need to panic. Golden always talks about being steady and consistent. Lets see just how much this team/program has grown

But IMO, this is now about Morris and his ability to provide some leadership and solid play

IMO, this is a throw game without Duke. But the problem is Morris has been shaky along with the Oline. But lets see if Coley gets scared in the second half....

actually it shows that Ryan Williams skillset is better for this version of the offense than Morris. We run straight ahead better with Crawford and can use the play action better off of that. Play action involves the tight ends too. Morris is a shotgun spread guy. He needs to get some yards with his feet when he's not on.

Some body needs to smack that TE in the mouth ST style. Keep doing it until he starts thinking twice about running down the middle.

Which one of our safeties that is hurt every other play is going to do that?

This rant is a little late but I find it disconcerting how often Duke has gotten caught from behind this year. Seems like it happens once a game on what could be easy TD runs.

The added weight does that to you.
Oregon RB won't be caught from behind. But he is like 175 or something.

North Carolina Passing
* C/ATT YDS AVG TD INT
Bryn Renner 13/18 136 7.6 1 0
Marquise Williams 4/7 98 14.0 1 1
Team 17/25 234 9.4 2 1

We get the ball to start the second half.

Not really in a bad place here. Just need to take care of bidnizz.

I think we can own their D line with straight ahead running with Dallas Crawford. Wear 'em down.

Bottom line is Morris needs to produce. Maybe get some yards with his feet. move the chains.

I agree. Everyone's dogging the offensive line and we keep running slow developing plays. But when we run right at them, we get 6-7 yards a clip.

Not on the goal line. They tried smashing it up the middle on the goal line a couple of times, both of which resulted in losses.

True, but have they tried to give it to Hagens and let the oline get some push or do they try to get cute.

Our online isn't the problem. It's the play calling. We are running out of shotgun to the outside every time. Those plays take forever to develop and they are a fast attacking team. But when we run straight at them we punch them in the mouth!!! We had 2nd and three and shouldve kept on punching it up the gut on them and we passed two straight times.. Terrible play calling!!! And when we go play action Morris doesn't even look for the tight ends.

What was two weeks ago against GT then?

We're clearly not as good as many of us thought we were.

Well we stunk pretty bad and only down 4. Need to figure out what the heck happened to our pass rush and stick with what is working on offense. Have to trust the staff to get this right.

Agreed, but that is what scares me. No Duke, on the road, our pass D cant seem to stop this f*cking guy. These guys have our number EVERY year, they have an experienced QB with a very quick release so its very hard to get to him. And OUR SENIOR QB is a ticking time bomb who can just as easily make a superstar throw, and then turn around and throw a stupid INT and cost us a whole drive.

I agree. But I think the D and special teams will have to play a major role in pulling this one out tonight, too.

We have taken a step back. 6 games into the season--- that's not good

No we haven't. Our defense outside of a couple miscues has played fine. Its Morris and no Duke that is killing us right now. We dont have a running game, Crawford is a warrior but he isnt that talented. We have to rely on Morris, and while calling him a one trick pony is inaccurate(no pun intended), he is once again having a difficult time out there. Duke was the guy that covered up the mistakes Morris would make, because when you needed 4 or 5 he would get you that, now that we dont have that we need Morris to make plays and he just hasn't.
