UM offers 2020 DT Westley Neal

Dream School Offer. This kid has been waiting on our offer for sometime now. Really curious to see what our DT board looks like. While he’s short and huge, a 97.83 spark rating is pretty intriguing.
Actual height is 6 feet 1/2 inch and 317 pounds.
Go midway down this page for his measurables at the February Miami Opening--

Yes he’s got that attitude we want from our DTs

On top of being athletic enough to cause some havoc in this defense... bonus is he doesn’t have to start early.. time to shirt get his body right and add good muscle and drop a bit of fat

Does this kid replace Riggins if the staff decides to drop him? I know Miami isn’t taking more than 3 DT’s. Losing Bethel, the UCLA guy, and probably Martin after this year. **** I think they may not take more than 2 DT’s.

Donell Harris burst off the line is truly elite. He will be hard to keep from Bama, UGA, and Clemson. We better buckle up for his recruitment next year.

I don't have any insider information but I really don't expect Harris to sign with us in the end. Feels like another one of those elite kids who really wants to come here but is persuaded to go elsewhere by "other" factors, which are admittedly very hard to pass up.

That’s my homeboy’s nephew & he is a Cane at heart(even passed by da cigar lounge & partook in the Canes 2017 win over fswho!) I’ll try to get some info as to see if we can get into his Top 8 Schools(he just dropped his Top 8 last Sunday)....

This sentence is literally everything that is wrong with recruiting, especially in South Florida. Guy receives his dream offer and you need to ask if we'll even make his top 8? Not a criticism of you but just very frustrating.

watched him at Paradise camp work every ol there. I think he even beat Big Baby once.

He's similar to Nesta...not as good a body..but has a quick get off and good leverage
Does he have Nesta's nastiness?

Thanks, insightful

Reminds me of another #75 that played @ the U. I think his last name rhymed with Pork.

Hold your horses my friend, Vince Wilfork was a war daddy at every level. Neal is a good but not War Daddy good. There are roughly 2 or 3 DT'S in the state for the 2020 class that approach war daddy status an they are Timothy Smith and Jalen Carter, with Smith being the closet to big Vince in size, athleticism, and production.

There are major bags being dropped for Carter and Bama has Smith in a holding pattern until they hear from a few other DT'S they are negotiating with so Smith is working with FSU/UF to secure smaller bags. I was hoping Smith would fall to Miami by default in the 2020 class.

Go Canes
