UM/MLS Dual Stadium adjacent to Marlins Park:

We don't need our own stadium, once recruits see the renovated SunLife they will flock, will be one of the nicest stadiums in America!!

Are you kidding me? This renovation doesn't even guarantee a Super Bowl. Recruits rather play at the Swamp or Doaks of the world because they provide a real college atmosphere.

This isn't going to happen.

"Sources close to Beckham’s group said Thursday, 'It’s not an option. It doesn’t fit in terms of room and it doesn’t fit with David Beckham’s vision.'

Beckham’s vision still includes a stadium downtown near the water and a source told CBS4’s Gary Nelson that his group is 'dismayed by a lack of effective political leadership in the county and the city.'"

I told you guys a month ago, our incompetent city government already blew this.

There isn't going to be an MLS team in Miami, there isn't going to be any stadium, that's how it is.

Absolutely classic. Beckham has a vision. The mindset of the city officials can't contemplate anything above a patch job. Steve Ross has sold them on a patch. We've actually got posters on this site excited about a patch.

The patch mentality leads to Marlins Park. Beckham's biggest problem was not to collapse in a seizure of laughter.

Easy solution: rip Marlins Park to the ground, send the team to New Mexico, and rebuild the Orange Bowl for the Canes. Let Beckham build his soccer stadium on the waterfront. And make Loria and Ross pay for all of it.
