UM AD says indoor Practice Facility is coming!

Those mid west schools need it much more than we do because of the snow. You rarely hear of practice being cancelled because if rain.

EITHER way, about time we get one. Recruits love that.

Yes, and no. Most Midwest schools basically where Chicago is or south, don't really get much snow, nor does it stay around for long before football season ends. North of that line, you have a point in that it may snow at the end of the season or between that and the bowl game, but indoor practice facilities are built for rain/thunderstorms here as well.

It's funny how people can talk crap about something that is clearly said in an audio interview linked in the OP. I guess it is true some people are just out right ignorant, an it is a shame they are fans of an institution for higher learning (@ 5xnc & Franchise). Ya'll need to get your **** together, listen to the interview. Thanks for polluting a positive thread with your agenda laden bullcrap.

IPF just isn't for bad weather. You can also use to improve sideline to field communication (and vice versa) by blasting noise on the speakers. It will be impossible to hear anything in an enclosed environment.

FSU spent $15 million on their's last year so adjusting for s.fla pricing, I would say UM is looking at $18-$20 million to build a IPF in Coral Gables. FSU initially estimated construction cost of $12.7 million when they broke ground in 2012, with a max cost of $15 million. Va Tech is building one for $7 million, talk about cost of living differential.

also nice for students that live near greentree. i woke up to the **** warchant being blasted during shannon's 5am practices on more than a few occasions.

UCF built their IPF back in 2004 for $4.3 million.

This argument can be a two sided argument because now UCF's facility is starting to look long in the tooth compared to newer facilities. But UCF's credit they were the first among BCS schools to build an IPF ( I think the article meant to say in Florida).

Clemson's IPF is nice I am not going to lie. This what UM will have to compete with

But this is the gold standard for IDF's.

given the fact that you've made other outrageous claims taken from "audio", it's not surprising people would think james never said that.

Seriously, what for? How much time do they actually miss due to weather?
A few delay's thus far, because of the heat? Why, it's 1000 degrees in SOS on most game days...I just don't get it.

Uh, Paranos. All he said was "What's next? I don't know. Lights need to come. And I've said it before, we need to get an indoor facility for football...At some point we'll have that in place."

Check it out at about the 10:50 mark. Very different from "indoor practice facility is coming." Sounds more like a goal for the indefinite future.

What for? Recruiting if nothing else. If schools we recruit against have one (and almost all do), we need one, plain and simple. You have to change with the times to adapt and be successful. I don't really understand why people can't or refuse to follow that logic.

'Something is coming" means what that something will occur in the future. An the a goal is what, something you will do in the future. So that is the samething. Please don't try an down my post with you non sense. Also he was speaking empirically when he made the statements not hypothetically so don't take things out of cotext.

But thanks for sharing your 2 cents, and the change from your thought will be mailed back to you. It's a goal I a have!

Tell Donna to figure out a way to redirect some of that research money to this venture and we'll have one of the best in the country.

Typical Paranose creative interpretation.
