According to a police report obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, an Athens-Clarke County Police officer monitoring traffic pulled over Harris at 10:05 p.m. Harris was arrested and charged with reckless driving and four other misdemeanor driving charges, including safety belts, operation of an unregistered vehicle without current license plate/revalidation decal, no proof of insurance and affixing materials that reduced visibility of the windows in the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee. He was booked at Athens-Clarke County Jail at 10:40 p.m. and released on a $50 cash bond 69 minutes later.

Police say Georgia cornerback Daniel Harris was driving 106 mph as he entered the Athens perimeter from College Station Road on Thursday night.

When traveling 95 in GA from the SC line to the FL line, there’s never been a time that I didn’t see at least 3-4 troopers or county mounties.
I got 5 MPH below the speed limit through there on cruise control right side.

Pretty sure the Feds went after those ********.

Get you a Rocky Mountain Radar….has saved me thousands of dollars….best radar out there . They’re not cheap but cheaper than a ticket and the cost of your insurance going up…

I sometimes hit 90 on the Freeway & feel like that's too fast.

Who the fxk does 106 anywhere & not think you're one wrong slight wheel turn from losing control of the vehicle & crashing or flipping that mf'er??

GA police salivate when they see Florida tags. State trooper pulled my 60+ year old mom while she was headed to Memphis. The Trooper told her “we pull people with Florida tags every chance we get because of drug trafficking.” Smh
Doesn't sound like profiling at all 😂

And I am ex LEO in Florida who also lived near Athens for 4 years. GA troopers suck.

That being said, 106 on a local road will probably get people arrested often.

In reality, a speeding ticket is issued in lieu of a physical arrest.

As someone that went to high school in Gwinnett and spent a lot of time in Athens, I’ve wondered where these kids are consistently hitting 100+ around Athens. There are stretches of 78, 10, and 316, but near campus there aren’t many places to drive like that. It’s crazy that so many of them have been arrested for this. I’ve said it before, but the players at UGA get away with whatever they want. I saw Moreno and Stafford do some wild ****. Even going back to Pollack (my sister went to Shiloh with him and is still close to his wife). They all got away with wild ****. To see this many arrests means they’re doing way more that’s being swept under the rug. Of course it’ll never get the same attention like it would if these were UM kids. They’re losing control over there though.
