Ufomba Kamalu could be the key to our Defensive Line.

Side note, Malcolm looking like he is getting back to form. We have overrated our WRs time in time out, but I think this is the year they come through. We have a legit #1 finally and arent asking guys who just arent #1 types to be so. We have a senior to stretch the field as our solid #2, and a bunch of guys who are more than talented enough to be third options. Very excited about this going into the fall....

I agree. WR has the potential to be our best unit.

Coley
Dorsett
Waters
Scott
Lewis
Jones

Walford
Sandland
Dobard

Good post. I can appreciate solid conversations about the Canes.

However, this is the line of thinking that has Canes fans burying rising true Sophomore DTs because they weren't playing like Nick Fairley as Freshmen.

Defensive Tackles (ESPECIALLY DTs, among some other positions) take time to develop. Typically in college DTs don't show out until their JR or SR years, often kids who have been in college 3 or 4 years.

Do Kamalu a favor - forgetting for a moment he couldn't care less what the message board experts say - and don't put any expectations on him.

So true, that being said, I hope the almost 22 year old Michael Wyche is taking note of the huge opportunity in front of him and busting his *** (such as his car photo might suggest..lol) to prepare for his arrival. He might even be the key here. Normally, I would say no way arriving in Fall...but the lack of play makers at the position may get him a good shot if he can stay in the playbook.

Whoever plays the 0 tech. Everyting else is plug and play.

I don't want to see Earl Moore or Corey King at all this season. Unfortunately Moore was wearing a black jersey yesterday. That is not a good sign.

Heurtelou and Wyche seem to have the right kind of body to play NT. Moore looks stout but is too compact. King has skinny legs. Maybe Courtel Jenkins comes in and kicks ***.

Really excited to see what Moten and Jenkins can do - hopefully in 2015-16, if you get my drift.

I MEAN WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO REDSHIRT SOME DTs THIS YEAR HOPEFULLY!!!!! :p

some silver lining with Jones getting lots of reps. looking like he will help as well. Last year against Louisville we were playing with like one healthy receiver.

I hope Jones becomes our big wr threat. He looks smooth out there. Excited to see how our wr battles play out. But he is the darkhorse as I can see a main 3 wide set of Coley, Jones, and dorsett.

Ufomba Kamalu is shaping up to be the best defensive lineman on this team. This kid will be the key to the defensive line this season. If he takes the next step, as sad as it is, Chick will be a backup.

Chick has played every snap for two years. You really think Al Golden would put him on the bench his senior year? Besides why couldn't they both be out there?

Effective defenses play a lot of people because they have the bodies. Fresh players are more effective. No way Chick doesn't play a lot. That's why you have co-starters.

Not sold on jones just because I don't take much stock if any in the spring unless it's an EE and even last year with figs it ended up a let down come the fall. Still at least he is doing something which is better than nothing.....
