Hey guys...sorry no link, but it's on ESPN.com. I'm on an iPad and I'm not savvy enough to link it.....so stop with the **** "negged" crap.
Unless you've been under a rock you know Florida had to reel back their spring scrimmage plan due to a significant amount of injuries on the oline. They also held out Matt Jones, their pegged starter at RB, for supposedly having a great spring. they probably didnt want to risk injury to him. He was a top recruit from the Tampa area a few years ago and is listed around 6'2 226. Freshman Kelvin Taylor ran for 59 yards on 11 carries with a patchwork oline against supposedly a talented Dline.
Driskel was 9-20 for 70 yards. Most completions were in the 4-5 yard range. Trey Burton had one reception for 21 yards, but most of his yards came after the catch. Florida held out LaTroy Pittman after getting banged up the other day and Quinton Dunbar and Solomon Patton wore red non contact jerseys. I'm guessing Andre Debose played because I didn't see anything written about him injured/wearing a red no contact jersey. DeMarcus Robison, a freshmen early enrollee, who was supposed to be a big boost to their receiving corps did not play. He has missed mst of the spring due to a high ankle sprain.
We still gotta finish our spring, but I feel like Al and staff are really starting to make a difference with our guys. To beat UFag we must stop their ground attack. Matt Jones got some burn at the end of last season and showed flashes of his talent...dude is a baller. We gotta keep Driskel honest and force him to beat us passing. Trey Burton will line up as QB some.....he will run the ball...may pass as well. He will also be Driskel's #1 target.
If our offense plays like it should.....with no turnovers....and we play well in the special teams department we win as long as we shut down their running game while keeping an eye on Burton.
Don't forget Florida gave up 39 sacks last years....we gotta chance to do ALOT of damage.
