UF D coah to Temple

Well ... We'll see how good Randy is as a DC in today's college game.

If Randy does well, he'll definitely get another HC shot ... If he wants it. IMO ...

he better figure out how to run more than man to man cover 2 99.99999999999% of the time

my thoughts drift back to that ohio state game, spread 5 wide, qb sneak krenzel up the middle all **** game.. way to adjust randy

Yeah, I always felt that Randy got way more praise than he had any right to get. He had the base D down and that did well, but he RARELY adjusted in the 2nd half and when he did, it was often way later than he should have. Randy also NEVER could stop a running QB. I mean NEVER!

If he can take over the Gates D and make it really good, then he may coach his way back to respectability and possibly get another crack at a HC position, but it cannot be overstated that the talent he had to work with his 1st 4 or so years as DC at the U greatly aided his abilities as a coach. I can't remember him EVER out scheming and out coaching a decent opponent as a DC. Anyway, I wish him well as long as it doesn't hurt us.

Dude ran a vanilla , simplified defense. Even the players have said it was as basic as basic gets. He just had great talent.

There's a reason he hasn't called plays since , he'd be screwed against all these spread teams now. Running cover 2 all game would be hilarious.

Preach. I kept waiting for an adjustment against the five wr set, qb draw. I kept hollering " hey dumbass , it's a draw!!! They literally ran a jr high offense and beat arguably the best team ever with it. Dude sucked, hence why he hasn't called plays since UM.

They're losing the bulk of their defensive power. There's a reason Collins took off when he did. It wasn't him and it wasn't Randy Shannon. It was Muschamp's mature recruits.

Bout time somebody gave Randy a shot at DC. What? He already was a DC? AND a HC? ****, he must suck or something.

Even Temple can do better than al.

Let that sink in. He failed so badly at Miami that ******* Temple won't take him back.

Randy's was a good DC even in the later years as the talent level decreased. He had a top 7 D every year except 2004.

The problem was that Coker's offenses kept getting worse and worse every year. It wasn't Randy's D.
