They’ve played 43 quite a bit all year. Bust most teams don’t allow for a lot of 3lb. Popo does not generally play instead of kiko he plays over Wes or alderman. Not to say he cannot play middle bc but he generally plays WITH Kiko or chase smith.
Bain is a sophomore and being doubled. I actually think yesterday was the best he's looked since he has been back. Bain is getting there. My honest opinion is moving Mesidor back to end is the true key, HE is the difference maker and can do multiple things. I've just been out on #9 for a few weeks now if not months. Ive grown to strongly dislike him as a player. He's selfish. I don't think people really understand how much he was out there doing what he wanted to do and not following instructions. You can be a one dimensional pass rusher IF you get home and sack the QB. He wasn't doing that so what you had out there was a statute with helmet and pads on. Shoutout to the espn commentator who called him out for his boneheaded play. I just expected better from a fifth year senior. Once Alston gets back, he shouldn't play another down here unless an injury occurs.
He plays next to Kiko because the politics of the Mauigoa bros keeps him on field constantly. Popo is a true MLB. Damari should be playing nickel with OJ & DJP on the outside.

Baron is a net negative. If Alston can play he can the same value in pass rush without being so terrible vs the run.
You will absolutely need 4-5 fresh DEs against Sycracuse and SMU. Baron is still needed. You guys are taking this too far as usual. Does he need to start? No but he absolutely needs starter level snaps. We got lucky we were playing WF so it was easy to bench him to show him a lesson. That crap wont work against Syracuse and SMU. You will need to pressure McCord or he will pick us apart. Buddy will drop back 50 times this game. Need fresh bodies at DE. I would argue we might go 6 deep at DE. Bryant and Pickett need to be ready.
I'm not taking too far at all if you simply watch him on film. He has struggled getting to the passer and with his run assignments not just one or the other. Will we use him vs Cuse ? Sure. But he shouldn't get starter quality reps. Any good OC will take advantage of him in scheme. If Alston is back with Bryant, Bain, and Mesidor staying outside he can get reps only in the obvious passing downs.
Does Cuse run fast tempo? If not, yes bring Baron in on 3rd and long.

Brings me back to the 50 yard run against Lville by Brown. Baron was at RE and stunted inside, leaving the entire left side of the field open for Brown. Easy TD. At the time I was thinking why on earth would Guidry call a stunt that opened up a hole like that. Now I am thinking Baron was free lancing thinking it was a pass play.
Has to be freelancing. I will not believe otherwise. All I would say is he should have been benched faster.
